It is said that bullying will make them more tough; however, why would you want someone to be tough and stand up for themselves that way? Even though bullying “is a common part of student’s childhood,” Students that are being bullied develop several problems. According to Wen-Chi, Shyuemeng, and Dih-Ling, “student victims can get social anxiety” (73). They are frightened to make new friends, apprehensive about getting laughed at, and feeling judged. This causes the person being bullied to be more distant.
Their environment can have violence. Growing up around violence can mentally cause the person to be influenced to be mean to others. When children grow up around their parents yelling and calling each other names, the child then becomes aware to that kind of hospitality, then later treat others the way they grew up. Another example, why people become bullies because they may have gotten bullied from someone else, and then became a bully themselves after experiencing that. Bullies sometimes don’t choose just to be mean to others, there is usually a reason why they became that way.
n.d.). In the end, however, everyone experiences consequences. The bullies become lonely and violent while the victims suffer from depression. Family and societal issues have led many people to become aggressive and think that it is permissible to deliberately humiliate others; they will then gain an overwhelming power and a sense of autonomy from watching their victims' pain, which causes them to not realize the negative outcomes that they might encounter like loneliness, depression, and possibly even death. Most people believe that bullying is using verbal abuse purposefully to control other people ("Bullying info and facts" n.d.).
When children come together in cliques they attend to hurt other kids on purpose just to make them feel better about themselves. “The home is the most violent place in the United States” (Garrett 19). Any one can become a bully. Some people who are being bullied may also become bullies some at some point in their life. Parents can ruin their children’s life many ways from not giving them enough attention, punishing them the wrong way, abusive environment, friends and teachers.
Bullying is undesirable, antagonistic manner among school going children that involves a real alleged power discrepancy. The power imbalance comes about because the bullies uses their physical strength, their power, embarrassing information, obnoxious language, or their reputation to control or maltreat other kids. The bullies are prone to recap the behavior over time. The act for bullying is agonizing because those bullied are long affected by the act and may live in fear in their life. Issues have arisen whether the bully should receive a special form of punishment at a particular age because just like the other offenses bullying should be punishable.
A single bully can have a wide-ranging impact on the student who observe bullying, and the overall climate of the school and community. Many may think that bullying only involves the bully and the bullied ;however, the effects of bullying extend to a far greater amount of people. “The supporters, onlookers, and defenders of bullying are also affected” (Hazeldon).Witness of bullying also feel that they are in an unsafe environment. They feel fear, guilt, powerless, and are tempted to participate. When bullying continues and a school does not take action, the school develops an environment of fear and disrespect, students have difficulty learning, feel insecure, dislike school, and perceive that teachers and staff have little control and don't care about them(“What effect”).
Also the, “What’s Bullying” article informs that, sometimes people are bullied because they look like they will not stand up for themselves (What’s Bullying). Bullying could be harmful at some point, but some people, as the “What’s Bullying” article said, b... ... middle of paper ... ...for himself. But not everyone could do that; some people could never be as brave as that narrator. As said before it could lead to serious damages, such as, it could effects that person in his or her concentration at school, in his or her confidence, or it could cause serious injuries, or death. Bullying Have you ever bullied by someone since you were in high school until now? Bullying is kind of bad behavior that all the people in society hated. But sometime people bullied their friends because they just want to have fun. However, being bullied is fearful that can normally lead confident people to become self-conscious, suicidal and unconfident. Firstly, bullying can make people to become self-conscious, because it can easily to lose their controlled.
Bullies often have an agenda that leads them to bully. A bully tries to “shame and intimidate their victims and make them feel inadequate” (Rosenthal 16). The reasoning behind this is that children often learn their habits from parents if they use aggressive language or have an aggressive behavior. Often children do not have a mother or father figure to guide them or teach them how to behave properly and this affects them in the long run. More bullies than non-bullies live without two biological parents; some live with extended family or foster families.
The bully might not have those attributes within themselves and hates the individual being bullied. These strikingly awesome aspects noticed by others cause the bully to use the individual as a punching bag, a target for insults and pranks. As a results of picking a target for the bullying the person feel happy, accomplished and above the bully. Since the bully feels they are above that person he/she will bully the person on a daily basis. This behavior will continue until the person being bullied take a stance against the bullying.
