What does it truly mean to be a hero? According to Webster's Dictionary a hero is defined as a person who is admired and idealized for courage, outstanding achievements and noble qualities. When asked, any person would attribute those qualities to individuals such as comic book superheroes or fictitious literary characters. What if the real heroes walk among us? Heroes are not only people with super strength, x-ray vision or the ability to stop bullets with their bodies. There are far more types of people who can be categorized as heroes out in the real world. Heroes are everyday people who do extraordinary things without expectations of glory and fame. Whether you are a stranger who risks their life for another stranger or the notoriously kooky Don Quixote who fought wind mills in the name of love, heroes are most often found in the extraordinary ordinaries that walk among us everyday. Extraordinary ordinaries show their light in the most interesting ways and times. The world witnessed many come to light during the Orlando Pulse night club mass shooting. On June 12th, 2016 Omar Mateen walked into the establishment and opened fired into innocent club goers. Martin sums up the essence of Don Quixote when he stated, "my own heroes are the dreamers, those men and women who tried to make the world a better place than when they found it, whether in small ways or great ones. Some succeeded, some failed, most had mixed results... but it is the effort that's heroic, as I see it. Win or lose, I admire those who fight the good
