The cream of the crop; the players your program would love to have. Here is the list of the top 25 freshman in the nation entering the 2010-11' college basketball season.
Watch out for: Trevor Reliford - Alabama Point Guard, 5'11'' 175 lbs; Justin Coleman - Louisville, Shooting Guard 6'6'' 210 lbs; Casey Prather - Florida, Small Forward 6'6''195 lbs.
25. Terrence Ross - Washington, Small Forward 6'6'' 180 lbs.
He is a very versatile forward that can score in many ways. You can put Ross on the low-block or outside the paint and expect him to score. He is in-depth with the mid-range game and can knock down jumpers consistently.
24. Tony Mitchell - Missouri, Power Forward 6'8'' 215 lbs.
Tony Mitchell is probably the most underrated players on this list. Mitchell is something similar to NBA small forward. At times, I witnessed him leading the break, displaying great vision and passing skills.
23. Doron Lamb - Kansas, Shooting Guard 6'4'' 183 lbs.
Doron Lamb is one of the most prolific scorers in this freshman class. He has a high motor, and enough speed to beat the defender off the dribble. With that, he also finishes well around the rim. He is in love with his mid-range game, and likes to go to his pick-and-pop occasionally.
22. Jereme Richmond - Illinois, Small Forward 6'7'' 195 lbs.
Richmond is an interesting recruit. He has the ability to get to the basket and score with the contact or without. He can play the two or the three. Displaying lateral quickness and an extra speed burst to blow past defenders.
21. Joe Jackson - Memphis, Point Guard 6'0'' 175 lbs.
Jackson is a crafty guard at 6-foot. He can score in a variety of ways and has good speed to beat the defender off the dribble. He is much smal...

...uard ability, but he has great vision and average passing skills. He can shoot the ball consistently from deep, but loves the mid-range. He will become a big-time point guard at the college level working under Calipari.
2. Jared Sullinger - Ohio State, Power Forward 6'9'' 255 lbs.
Sullinger a big time post presence. He likes to throw down ever ball he touches. On top of that, he can step out and hit those mid-range jumpers. Not to mention, he has the ability to take defenders off the dribble and finish strong in the paint.
1. Harrison Barnes - North Carolina, Small Forward 6'8'' 210 lbs.
Barnes by far is the best player in this recruiting class.A lot of people are dubbing him as the next Carmelo Anthony, but he's Harrison Barnes. He is a very great athlete with a lot of upside. He has the ability to beat defenders off the dribble and finish with contact.
He excels at all of these. He would not be stopped in the for as long as he plays. Harrison also excels in the Nickel defensive scheme because he is significantly stronger than most of the NFL’s players. He reps 405 on the bench press, which he makes it looks easy. He Yater rows more than 275 like he is a boss. His decline bench is unbearable, he can do 315 plus a couple chains on each side. Incline bench is 275 reping and he makes it look so easy. Harrison has some of the best form when he workout it is like he knows how to do everything right. All of his strength helps him do what he does best and that is play the game of football. He is the current franchise sack leader for the Pittsburgh Steelers with 80.5. With playing 16 games in 5 years, some people may not know but that is good for a LB. He knows the game like the back of his hand, he is unblockable can barley be blocked by Tackles that play on the offensive line. The 3-3-5 scheme is really good for him it is great for him to get done on the defensive line or stand up in the OLB. Coverage for him is alright, but on madden his stats were in this order Awareness 87, Speed 73, Acceleration 85, Agility 74, Strength 97. See he has the highest Strength rating in the game. He has his own post workout shake that he uses which is called OptimumEFX
Firstly, let me quickly outline Latoya’s extensive playing history and this will demonstrate the level of play that Latoya can offer to your league. During the summers of her High School years she would continue practicing and playing for an AAU team.
can hit and field like no one else. He is an amazing player and great hitter. He has a great
In spring of 1991, the University of Michigan signed what was arguably the best recruiting class in the history of college basketball. Coach Steve Fisher signed five of the nation's top prospects - Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Juwan Howard, Jimmy King and Ray Jackson. Webber and Rose were childhood friends from Detroit who turned into McDonald's All Americans. The 6'9" power forward, Webber, was regarded as the number one player in the nation. Rose was a tall guard standing 6'7", who played like a young Magic Johnson. Howard, another McDonald's All American, was a multi-talented forward from Chicago. Texas natives King and Jackson capped off the Fab Five Freshman. While Jackson was an incredible defensive player, King was a super athletic guard [Wieberg].
Reggie Harding was the first high school player to make the jump from high school to the NBA, and he did this in 1963. He spent five mediocre seasons in the NBA and was never the special player that people thought he would have been. Since then, there have been around 40 high school players who have decided to skip college and declare for the NBA draft. The bulk of these players have come within the last seven to ten years. Out of these forty or so players, no more than ten have had a successful career. Last year seven high school players entered the NBA draft, and only one of those seven had a successful first season, and that was Lebron James (Smith).
In college as a sophomore he named First Team All-Atlantic 10 Conference and Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year after averaging 17.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. Also, he was named Atlantic 10 Tournament MVP after hitting an electrifying, buzzer-beating 3-pointer to lift Rhode Island over Temple, 62-59 in the A-10 Tournament championship game. He had career-high 28 points at St. Joseph's Feb. 21, career-high 15 rebounds vs. Brown, Nov. 24, 1998, and career-high 11 assists vs. George Washington March 5. Lamar had five-game stretch in January where he scored 20 or more points in each game.
“I’d seen Tre (that was the name he went by) play in high school and he was a very strong guy,” Jensen said. “He could body up and get himself places, he also wasn’t afraid to chuck up a shot.”
Steph Curry is a very amusing person and player. He is smart and a very nice guy. He got inspired by someone to play, he went to Davidson, he trains very hard even in the offseason and also had a very rough injury.
The game of basketball has always been changing. Players go in and out of the NBA every season, adding their own style and achievements. However, no one has ever had greater accomplishments than Michael Jordan. He was destined to be an all-star his whole life and performed that way throughout his career despite many hardships. Michael Jordan is one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
Jump shots inside the paint are the big men’s forte because it takes a big man to shoot over a big defender. Great players who have mastered this art include Tim Duncan, Shaquille O’Neal, Karl Malone, Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning and Hakeem Olajuwon. When these players get inside the paint, their size and skill enables them to utilize this shot to score.
It was not until the year 2002 that the NBA was able to find someone to match Jordan’s dazzling acrobatic style of play. His name is Lebron James. Lebron, who plays shooting guard and small forward, stands at an athletic six-eight. James, however, never played in the NCAA. He was drafted straight out of high school in the 2003-04 season, by the Cleveland Cavaliers. James is already on the road to success by achieving co-rookie of the year, and he appeared in the Olympics. James is expected to be a champion, but he may not have what it takes to become a real champion such as Michael Jordan was. Before Jordan or James can be categorized as a champion, they have to be able to handle pressure, fame, and maintain a positive relationship with their team. When comparing Jordan and James’ clutch capabilities, or their ab...
some of the best rebounders and defenders in the league. To be a good rebounder and defender, the basketball player either has to be tall, fast, or strong. So, it would make sense that they are good at rebounding and defending because they are tall, fast, and strong. They were both picked in the first round of the NBA draft. It is really hard for a basketball player to get picked in the first round but, that just shows how good they really are. Both of the teams obviously liked the two stars be...
very good, but he had lost some of his focus. Later, in his high school career,
Today’s league contains thirty teams and these teams are divided into two conferences, the east and west. Fifteen teams are in the east and fifteen teams are in the west. Another way they are divided is there are six divisions that contain five teams each. Two NBA teams the Golden State Warriors, and the Cleveland Cavaliers have battled it out in the finals for the last three years and are the front runners this year(Trenchard NBA Then and Now). In today’s league, players are relying more and more on a three point shot(Segal 14). Players like Stephen Curry are revolutionizing the game of basketball with their shooting talent(Segal 15). This causes players to have to contain a three point shot in their arsenal to even be considered a superstar(Trenchard NBA Then and Now). There are now even more international players in the league today, and many of them show great potential. International players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kristaps Porzingis are just a few examples of rising stars in the game(Segal 79). As of today the NBA is in a phase known as the LeBron era because of how he took the league by storm ever since he arrived.(Segal 22). Right now, guards are being seen as more of the focal point of the team rather than big men(Segal 33). Some of today’s brightest stars include guards like Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, and Stephen Curry(Segal 10). Last but not least,
