Macbeth and the Three Witches

Witches are known to be evil and conniving. The first scene in Macbeth starts with three witches who are evil and full of hatred, looking to prey on the weak. These witches are also known as The Fates by some. The love to predict the future of people's lives including Macbeth's. Had they not predicted his future, this story would not be known as a tragedy. The witches are the characters in this story, Macbeth, who drive the plot.

Through the years there have been many stories about the witches in Macbeth. Also called “The weird sisters”, they appear in Macbeth’s life like dark thoughts or evil temptations. They end up being the most outrageous and dangerous characters in the whole story. The fates seem to ignite Macbeth’s ambitions which causes him to completely change his life. They start by giving little praises like “All hail Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor; and All
He is corrupted by their prophecies. The witches complicate his life and make him believe they can predict the future when all they are doing is lying and deceiving him. Someone might relate this play to a highschool setting from their own experience. With all the peer pressure and unfaithful people you are surrounded by it’s hard to know who to trust. When you think people are there to help you all they do is stab you in the back. Some might question how Macbeth was so easily deceived, and say he could have been more wise about everything. You cannot avoid the inevitable. Especially when the Fates only told him bits and parts about his future it was hard for him to realize he was being deceived because they were playing into his desires and dreams. There was too much deception for Macbeth to make his own true decisions. He did not even see it coming. This is to show that the three witches and their prophecies do definitely drive the plot of
