What is Motivation?
Motivation is the inner drive or power that pushes and gives you the strength to accomplish your goal. Motivation is driven by two things desire and ambition, when someone wants to achieve something or reach a certain goal, without these two things desire and ambition one will lacks motivation. Motivation is needed everywhere weather it’s to become rocket scientist or just get out of bed in the morning, matter how big or small the task. People with motivation have a clear sight and understanding of what they want and will don’t everything in their power to achieve it because of their fixed desire, confidence, and faith in the ability. So it is clear that to succeed in anything motivation is very important. (Remez Sasson, 2014)
Component of Motivation
Motivation has three major components activation, persistence, and intensity. (Kendra Cherry, 2014)

motivation is a behavior that makes people want to struggle all the time until he or she achieved the things that they all wanted. motivation can be divided into two ways, intrinsic and extrinsic. the intrinsic one usually comes from his or her desire and this method is really proven that it can possibly achieved if this intrinsic method is used because we do not need to rely on people around like friends mostly. the extrinsic one is the reversal from the intrinsic that we rely on the people who taught us to be motivated and this method quite or often proven or succeed because human also need a help each other.
According to Robbins et al; (Robbins et al, pg 296) motivation refers to the process by which a persons efforts are energized, sustained, and directed towards a goal. This definition has three key elements: energy, direction, and persistence. Motivation is a complex and important subject, has historically been given a great deal of attention by Psychologists, who have proposed theories to explain it. (Riggio, pg 188),
Wikipedia defines motivation as, “The general desire or willingness of someone to do something.” Motivation is a need within us that inspires us to take action. In leadership, motivation theories play a key part in organisational behaviour and creating team success. It forms the centre of influence and therefore effective and inspirational leadership.
Theories of Motivation What is the motivation for this? According to the text, motivation is defined as a set of factors that activate, direct, and maintain behavior, usually toward a certain goal. Motivation is the energy that makes us do things; this is a result of our individual needs being satisfied so that we have inspiration to complete the mission. These needs vary from person to person as everybody has their individual needs to motivate themselves.
The author believes that goals and desires require an individual to be motivated to move from one state of being to the next. This motivation encompasses the emotional, cognitive, social, and biological drives that trigger behavior (Maslow, 1943). Accordingly, the word motivation befalls the frequently used description of why an individual achieves a goal, and the term motivation originates from the Latin root movere, which means “to move.” Therefore, motivation stands as the state that “moves” an individual to act in a particular way. For instance, when one is lying on the beach on a warm summer day and begins to feel hot, the physical need to cool down might cause one to stand up, go to the water for a dip. If the heat remains too over-bearing,
What is Motivation? Is it about how hard you want something the drive you have to achieve that one task that has been on your mind since you could think for yourself or is that one long driven thing you come put all your effort into? But actually motivation is defined by Psychology today. It says “Motivation is literally the desire to do things. It's the difference between waking up before dawn to pound the pavement and lazing around the house all day. It's the crucial element in setting and attaining goals—and research shows you can influence your own levels of motivation and self-control. So figure out what you want, power through the pain period, and start being who you want to be.” While our motivations actually come from the interchange between nature and nurture we consider four perspectives when we are trying decipher different motivation behaviors.
Motivation is defined as the process that guides, initiates, and maintains goal orientated behavior and thought (Cherry, 2013). Motivation is what drives individuals to do what they do, whether it is something as simple as getting a drink because he or she are thirsty or something as big as getting up every day and gong to work for a paycheck.
Motivation can be described as “”the need or desire to do something” (Jenkins, 2014). Motivation is a big factor because it helps people perform everyday tasks or decisions. I use motivation everyday to work on homework and exercise. Without motivation I wouldn 't feel the need to get anything done. I would put everything off and never finish a task. There are many theories about how people view motivation. Two of those theories are evolutionary perspective and drive reduction theory. Evolutionary perspective involves people doing tasks or behaviors based on their instincts. This could mean that I do things because it 's my instincts and not because I feel the need to get things done for other reasons. Drive reduction theory means that a drive compels someone to reduce a need. When it 's late at night my drive may be tiredness so I reduce the need by going to bed. I feel the drive reduction theory applies more about my need for motivation. My future career would also rely on motivation. I would need the motivation every morning to wake up and get out of bed to get ready. Then I would need the motivation to actually go to work to get things done. Without the motivation I would have never gone out to get a job because I wouldn 't feel the need to. People must be motivated to get things done to have a fulfilling
Motivation is literally the desire to do things. In detail, motivation is the internal and external factors that
What is motivation? Motivation is described as the DESIRE to achieve a goal through the commencement or launching of goal oriented behaviour. There are two ways that people are motivated, Positive motivation and Negative motivation.
An intrinsic motivation is characterized as a motivation for the sack of doing it. There is no external reward for completing the specific task in intrinsic motivation. The motivation come from the person 's desire to complete the task because they know the task itself is rewarding enough. An internal motivation differs slightly from intrinsic motivation. Internal motivation is strictly from the desire and willingness of the person to complete the task. External motivation is a motivation factored by outside influences. Whether the outside influence is negative or positive, the motivation comes from money, grades, awards, tokens, criticism, or punishments.
While motivational and job satisfaction theories can help employers or leaders to gauge what motivates their employees, it is impossible for them to be used to explain all motivating factors. By analyzing these theories, it is possible to understand their basic concepts, and see how they can be an advantage in motivating their employees to the best possible outcome for the
Motivation, is innate, is a natural condition (that is, something inferred to exist from known elements) that bring us to reach a specific goal. Motivational theories deals with the difficulties to explain what instigates, and maintains persistence in behaviour.
According to Greenberg (1999) motivation is defined "as a process of arousing, directing and maintaining behaviour towards a goal." Where directing' refers to the selection of a particular behaviour; and maintenance' refers to the inclination to behave with consistency in that manner until the desired outcome is met.
Motivation is best defined as the needs, wants, and beliefs that drive an individual. It is the basis of what people work for and keeps them doing things they otherwise would never do. People act in a whole new manner when they are motivated by something. Motivation gives them a whole new perception of the task at hand. Motivation is not always positive though, and it does not always just come from one place, for example, your boss. Motivation can be negative by not receiving something, and contrary to popular belief it is not always money that motivates people to do what they do. People have different needs, wants, and desires and the finding what is most important to those individuals is the key to motivation. People and companies have used countless techniques and approaches to motivate others and employees, but what works for one person does not necessarily work for the other.
