Global warming is a major threat to the planet. It is agreed that humans have caused most of the past century's warming by releasing greenhouse gasses, as we power our electronic lives. The “greenhouse effect” is performed when the gasses let out into Earth’s atmosphere trap heat from the sun. Through the burning of fossil fuels, humans are enhancing the greenhouse effect and increasing the temperatures of the planet. Although the greenhouse effect is what keeps the planet warm, thereby supporting life, too much would also result in severe issues.
(NASA, 2011) The industrial revolution which started in 1875 changed weather conditions. The world has a tendency to warm up. The industrialization and the increasing population density are forcing governments to consume more fossils fuels and affecting the artificial greenhouse gases fluctuation. Even if the usages of fossils fuels could be prohibited, greenhouses gases produce in the atmosphere are going to remain for hundred years. The emission of greenhouse gases cannot be stopped, but people can take some precaution like reducing carbon dioxide, making laws, burning of fossils fuels and so on.
This flux in temperature is affected by multiple factors making it hard to determine the true source of problem. Evidence supports that the earth's warming is natural; however, some data indicates that the warming trend has increased due to human activity. Global Warming due to Human Activity Every day human activity has negative effects on the environment. The burning of fossil fuels has released large concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere. Developing countries such as China and developed countries such as the United States (US) are consuming more fossil fuel, thus releasing more CO2 from their admissions (Vital Signs 42).
Earth has its cooling and heating periods. But scientist fear that the heating periods are happening faster than usual to because of the manmade emissions. There are natural causes that cause climate change but the increase in emissions from man made products has increased climate change drastically than it’s usual because of our deforestation, burning of fossil fuels, and intensive farming.
Scientist around the world are warning us that global warming poses a major threat to our future quality of life, previously there has been little information on this problem. Right now, the rate of global warming may be 100 times faster than it has ever been. Very soon the earth may become hotter then at any time in human history. In the last decades the problems of atmospheric change have been gravely advanced by pollution resulting from human activities. These environmental changes pose a real threat to the lives of people and wild life.It is vital to all of us that we fully understand the complex relationship between the atmosphere and the earth.
Global warming is a war that we should not get involved with because we will lose if changes aren’t made soon. Global warming is the rapid increase in earth’s average surface temperature over the past century due to the fact that greenhouse gases are being released into the atmosphere increasing the earth’s average temperature (EarthObservatory.NASA.org). There are many contributing factors that play a role into the cause of global warming. Greenhouse gasses are gasses such as Carbon Dioxide, Methane, Nitrous Oxide, and F-gasses that trap heat in the atmosphere. The heat that is trapped in the earth’s atmosphere is a slowly melting glaciers, cause sea levels to rise and is messing with the weather patterns.
Fossil fuels are the second biggest thing but they release carbon as well so they basically contribute to the same ideas in the world. Greenhouse gases are another problem in the world they make the ozone layer evaporate and they are always being released by the areas of the world. Temperatures have risen by 4 degrees fair n high in the last years, but if we keep doing what we are3 doing the tempter will rise by at minimum 10 degrees in the next 5 years. We can prevent this stuff from happening in the future but we all need to work together to stop it from happening.
There is no doubt that our climate is changing rapidly. Scientists have been observing this change from the decades. Similarly a report conducted in recent year states that the global warming as a result of human made emissions of carbon dioxide is less than what we thought. The change is not so big but it is estimated that climate change will be positive for human being in future. The report also states that global warming induced by the increasing amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, which happens in hundreds of years is most likely to be above 1 degree Celsius.
Fossil fuel emissions are the main cause of global warming. We release over twenty billion tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere each year, which increases the amount of heat trapped by the greenhouse effect, thereby contributing to global warming. The amount of fossil fuel remaining is limited. This will cause job losses in the fossil fuel industry. On the other hand, the United States has advanced technologies such as solar panels that can replace fossil fuel, which will cause the amount of green jo... ... middle of paper ... ...or in one’s own community.
Also, with this current warming, even with humans contributing to the rising average global temperature, scientist today do not fully understand all the complexities of the atmosphere (Pringle 19-21). According to another book by Mr. Pringle, Global Warming the Threat of Earth’s Changing Climate, scientists predict global temperatures could rise from two to six degrees Celsius by 2050 (33). Despite these predictions historical and new information show that scientist are incorrect that global temperatures will forever continue to increase. Global warming and the rise in global temperatures is due to humans burning fossil fuels and overconsumption of products, as well as natural cycles changing slightly and other natural phenomenon; however, this warming will eventually lead to global cooling. With global temperatures predicted to rise two to six degrees Celsius by 2050, according to the book Global Warming The Threat of Earth’s changing climate, (Pringle 33) many people are becoming worried about rising sea levels from this warming (Pringle 25-26).
