The Future of Human Evolution Evolution, the science of how populations of living organisms change over time in response to their environment, is the central unifying theme in biology today. Evolution was first explored in its semi-modern form in Charles Darwin 's 1859 book, Origin of Species by means of Natural Selection. In this book, Darwin laid out a strong argument for evolution. He postulated that all species have a common ancestor from which they are descended. As populations of species moved into new habitats and new parts of the world, they faced different environmental conditions.
Evolution, what is evolution? Evolution is the process by which different kinds of organisms have changed and adapted from their earlier forms. Evolution relates so closely to biology because biology is the study of life and evolution is how living organisms have adapted to the environment. My goal for this paper is to explore evolution in mammals, the basic theory of evolution, beliefs of evolution, the main contributors of evolution, evolution in humans, evolution in monkeys, things that humans lost from evolution, as well as extinctions. I became interested in this topic because it hard for me to think at one time humans had tails, or that some species of ape’s DNA is very similar to ours.
With the studies that Charles Darwin obtained he published his first work, “The Origin of Species.” In this book he explained how for millions of years animals, and plants have evolved to better help their existence. Darwin reasoned that these living things had gradually changed over time to help themselves. The changes that he found seemed to have been during the process of reproduction. The traits which would help them survive became a dominant trait, while the weaker traits became recessive. A good example of what Darwin was trying to explain is shown in giraffes.
Charles Darwin came up with the theory of natural selection that caught the public’s attention due to its opposing ideas from other scientists of his generation. Natural selection explained how species were able to evolve over the course of thousands and millions of years. It showed how species characteristics and physicality’s could change due to other causes such as the environment, food supply, predators and/or diseases. Darwin explains a scenario in which rabbits are split into two groups and tested on which would survive in certain circumstances. Their work introduced a new perspective on the study of growth or change in humanity. The center of evolutionary psychology focuses on questions like: How does a trait develop and evolve in an individual, Are all traits subject to change or are there certain unchanging human traits? By asking these sorts of questions, evolutionary psychologists, thanks to Darwin, can understand if a certain trait is shaped by natural selection and how a trait can contribute to a beings survival. In all parts of the the world both past and present, mankind searches for the answers how earth and its complex life forms came to be. Over the years there have been many theories that have surfaced, but the one most popular is the evolution theory. Evolution is taught now in science classrooms all over the world, the concepts based on charles darwin’s theory regarding evolution and natural selection. The science community has accepted evolution has how the earth came into form. however since no one present when the earth was created no one knows for sure, but there is one theory that explains how, why, and when, and that is creation.

Naturalists had already established that different animals are adapted to different modes of life and environmental conditions; Lamarck believed that environmental changes evoked in individual animals direct adaptive responses that could be passed on to their offspring as inheritable traits. This generalized hypothesis of evolution by acquired characteristics was not tested scientifically during Lamarck's lifetime. A successful explanation of evolutionary processes was proposed by Charles Darwin. His most famous book, On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection (1859), is a landmark in human understanding of nature.

Another reason is because there are so many different facts and evidence found throughout the years to prove that humans have evolved over the years into the people they are today. Charles Darwin is not the founder of evolution, but with help from history and these scientists, Thomas Henry Huxley, Alfred Wallace and John Gould, he was able to develop the theory of evolution. These scientists contributed a huge amount to Charles research and helped him come up with the conclusion of where humans evolved. II. HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution took years and years of research.
He believed that all living things gradually evolved from common ancestors. He wrote many novels, such as On the Origin of Species by Natural Selection, which explained more about his theory and ideas on evolution (Coyne 23). Charles Darwin made an impact and contributed to the theory of evolution, and is still admirably for his work to this day. Charles Robert Darwin was born in Shrewsbury, England on February 12th, 1809. His parents were Robert and Susanna Darwin.
