Learning Theory
There is nothing like working hard and being rewarded for it, my father would say to me every day before I left for work to my very first job. I was a Ticketing Cashier at a popular tourist attraction in my state where hundreds of thousands would attend every year. This was my first opportunity to earn my own pay check, so I valued every dollar and cent. The highlight of my position was having the opportunity to meet new people from all over the world, and earn incentives for upselling and exceeding customer standards.
Starting out as a new employee I was a tad nervous, but looking around at my fellow coworkers speaking to guests and selling the park special offers with ease gave me hope. Often times I found myself just observing

Within this theory individuals learn socially by observing what happens to other people and just by being told about something as well as through direct experiences. Those that receive feedback tend to use that information to progress toward their goal and what they want to do. While working as a cashier for the first time there were several skills I had to learn and pick up on quickly, once I did that I was placed under review. In 2003 Ronell Wilson and his friend Jessie Jacobus arranged to sale guns to a buyer. The buyers happen to be two undercover detectives. They arranged to meet in Staten Island to exchange guns for cash. Wilson and his friend did not have guns to sale and the plan was to rob the two gun buyers. When they met the gun buyers Wilson and Jacobus sat in the back of the car right behind the two detectives. At some point Wilson realized that the gun buyers were cops and begin shooting them one by one to avoid going to jail. Wilson used a small handgun to kill both detectives. Wilson killed Detective Rodney J. Andrews and detective James V. Nemorin.

Social cognitive theory of learning is a theoretical perspective that focuses on learning by observing others and eventually assuming control over one’s own behavior (Ormrod, 2011, p.323). Social cognitive theory is a perspective that helps us understand about learning by observing other people doing the same thing. This theory is a blend of behaviorism and cognitive psychology (Ormrod, 2011). Behaviorism theory relates to learning as a stimulus- response relationship and suggests that learning involves a behavior change whereas according to social cognitive theory learning is an internal process that may or may not lead to a behavior change. For example one might attempt to ride a bicycle as soon as they learn to ride the bicycle but learning how to put air in the bike may not be needed until the bicycle need air.
I took up my first job sophomore year of high school and have stuck with it ever since. I currently still work there, Enchanted Beach Weddings. In this job I work labor and I am also one of the head photographers. We set up beautiful weddings on the beach and then I am in charge of directing them and leading the bride, groom and everyone else through the wedding. While I am doing that, I am also taking the wedding photography. It is a super stressful job to have couple’s wedding day experience in your hands and control, but I have never had a bad experience with it and am so priveleged to be a part of such an important day for couples about 75 times each year. Social learning theory also has its own limitation. As we know that, nothing is perfect in the world. One of the limitations of social learning theory is the children who watch violent TV shows and some video games that convey bad meaning yet they never imitate it. When a person recognizes that the message is more towards their attitudes, the message take greater possibility to influence the learning behavior of that particular person (Cohen, Shumate, & Gold, 2007). Children are still young and they do not have the ability to differentiate which content of the TV shows are good and which are bad. Most people learn through watching other. As a child, we learn by mocking what we have observed repeatedly. This is how we learn to walk, talk, speak, and to feed ourselves. We also learn social skills from the people around us. We learn right from wrong, we learn what is acceptable in our everyday lives. We also learn societal norms. Most children learn social norms from the family structure. If the family structure is broken or not complete it may cause problems for the children. If the family has only one parent then the family unit suffers. If the child is part of a family that has deviant problems then the child learns that these problems are the norm. This could lead to the child to think that drinking or drugs are normal. It is also a factor if the child observes crime in the family unit. The child learns that crime is normal until they run up against society who states otherwise.
Successful teachers develop the whole child by making integrated efforts to promote their student’s academic, social and emotional learning. Children need to be aware of themselves and others; make responsible decisions, and be ethical and respectful of the people around them.
In the social development theory,( Leo Vygotsky primarily) explains that socialization affects the learning process in an individual. It tries to explain consciousness or awareness as the result of socialization. This means that when we talk to our peers or adults, we talk to them for the sake of communication.

How you deliver feedback is as important as how you accept it, because it can be experienced in a very negative way. To be effective you must be tuned in, sensitive, and honest when giving feedback. Just as there are positive and negative approaches to accepting feedback, so too are there ineffective and effective ways to give it.
