The movie Despicable Me directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud was released in 2010. The movie is about an evil villain named Gru, who is the protagonist. Gru comes up with a wicked plan to steal the moon. To succeed in his plan, he needs the help of three little girls who he adopts. These three little girls turn his world upside down, showing him he can be a loving father. These girls change his heart. Coffin and Renaud have used film and narrative techniques to illustrate the theme that good can overpower evil. They also explore the themes, anyone’s heart can be changed by love and how important it is to have a loving family. The directors present these themes through the characters and events of the film.

The directors have altered Gru’s appearance, making him very unattractive, and even the house he lives in is undesirable. Once Gru adopts the three little girls, he becomes very protective of them. When Vector, a young and new villain, kidnaps the girls from the dance concert Gru changes into a hero to rescue them back, he even gives up the moon for them. I enjoyed watching this movie. It shows how people shouldn’t be judged for how they look or by a few actions and people can change. Often these people just need something that loves them unconditionally. This is a great movie for children to watch as there are important underlying themes they can pick up on. It is also a good movie for older people as they would enjoy the humour. The themes are portrayed successfully by the choice of characters and through the events.

This film unlike most others on the same topic had no real event to focus on. There was not just one climax or specific scene that the others built up to or supported. I cannot say that I enjoyed it but I do feel it has to a great extent affected me. The only reason I feel that this film is one worth watching is because of the latent message it holds. It very successfully exposes authority and bureaucracy in society. The characters in this film portray people that are either convinced or have been convinced that are crazy.

It 's not always about how things look on the outside, but more about your inner self. More about getting those individuals to believe in themselves.The film helped me to see the value of building up self esteem. I know in math some of the kids that say they don’t like math just had a bad experience with it. Usually I’ll try and give them something simple just to start to let them feel a sense of accomplishment. Then I usually will continue to build from there. This film never gets old. It’s still very relatable today and a young audience would be able to see themselves in any of those characters. This film reminded me that kids are coming to class with many different experiences, emotional phases, as well as insecurities. I must remain cognizant of them along with continuing to be that positive role model they need. I would recommend this film to anyone that has kids they would like to keep encouraged as well the ones they believe are

I have always believed that all races have their good and bad. Their is never going to be the perfect race. This movie definitely set a powerful message that life is not perfect for any race and that even though people are from different cultures, they are all interconnected somehow. The filmmakers did a great job at showing us that individuals should not be based on first impressions such as skin color or the social status.
Though not a film to be taken too seriously, this movie has the power to whisk audience members away for 2 hours, into a world in which the bad guys finish last and the power of good conquers evil.

These are the kind of fairy tales that need to be told so that women do not feel the need to be weak and dependent on other people. If fairy tales slowly become more realistic then I think they are a good thing but teaching women to not be strong or if their not a size 0 and gorgeous, well that in my eyes is not okay.
Throughout the entire film, there are lessons that are being taught. Whether is the central theme of not judging someone by their skin color but by their character or showing the essence of what the meaning of family really is. Through the setting, acting, and relationships shown it all comes together to make the perfect film. Gru transitioned from the “subject” to the “object” in a matter of hours in the movie Despicable Me. He provides, sacrifices, and protects the girls just as a mother and father should. He is the caregiver to the girls, and the only true person to ever love them that they know of. This is the goal of a true mother, to make sure their child is always loved and never feels otherwise.
She sets up the lives of individuals in order to make them feel loved again, or to give them a taste of their own medicine. By becoming so preoccupied with fixing the lives of others, she soon realizes that everyone else is happy except her. Amelie eventually realizes that no one will rearrange her life in order to find happiness, she must learn to take action and arrange her own life so she can achieve happiness and love. Viewers who watch this movie will eventually start to consider some of their own desires and the idea of having to pursue their goals shall awaken within them. Through this film the audience can learn that if they want to reach happiness and other goals in life they must take action, because if they decide to sit around and wait, they can find themselves sitting around waiting eternally unhappy. To conclude, I think this movie is a good example to show how a homeless person lived and how he survived his life from being a homeless. Throughout all his life he showed what can determination do even though there are obstacles in the way. Doing is best paid off his hardships. So from dreaming big, be determined on what you're trying to do, and be responsible on things will make you succeed in the future.
Not only does this movie deal with the issues of society, but it points to biblical scriptures that help lead us in the right direction. The biggest lesson that this film taught me was that if I put my complete faith in God, then no matter what happens, he will provide, watch over, and take care of me. I learned that expressing belief in God is not enough. I have to live everyday believing and trusting him and I have to show my trust and faith through my actions and my words.
