A teacher can become, in certain ways, like a parent and most importantly, a friend. All of this is done without forgetting the responsibility of a teacher. Teachers’ relationships with their students are very important, but it is my responsibility as a teacher to also create good relationships with other teachers, because this is important for the school and the society. Being enthusiastic and supportive of fellow teachers can show positive relationships among the different teachers in schools. By having a positive relationship with other teache... ... middle of paper ... ...to meet the students’ parents, to ask for their help and to also celebrate the accomplishments of the student’s progress and teacher’s work.
Having a positive influence in a student’s life is one of the most important tools they will use for the rest of their lives. I have seen the difference the teachers can make, and what I can do, it is too important to just walk away from. I may not be able... to help everyone but, t... ... middle of paper ... ...sated. This will give us all hope, and would show my kids that if I can do it, so can they; it would allow me to have a chance to improve not just my life, but my family’s and those students, which I would be able to help on a higher level. This is not just for me, but for my family, and all of the students that look up to me.
Teaching is inspiring and giving students hope and a chance to grow into who they really want to be. Teaching is also molding and building a relationship with the students so they know to be confident in themselves. Learning is in my opinion the opposite of teaching. Even though with both you have to have an open mind, learning is always wanting to know more. Asking questions and exploring is learning.
I aspire to become a teacher in the future and hopefully make a difference in students’ lives. Teachers are more than just people who educate students, they are people who continue to make a difference in my life and teach me the value of hard work every day. I know that I really want to pursue a career in the education field as a teacher because I want to help people and share my love of learning with my future students. I also want to become a teacher because I would like to give back to the amazing teachers that I have this year and take what they have taught me and instill that in my future classroom. I realize that teaching is a lot of hard work, but I am willing to give one hundred percent effort on a daily basis so that students can receive a great education that they deserve.
By interacting with their peers they will learn how to share their ideas, accept others points of view and learn how to develop relationships , which is a very important part of life that will help them to succeed in their careers. I hope that my students leave my class with lots of new information , positive attitudes about learning, confidence and an open mind. ... ... middle of paper ... ...gh teaching and getting a better perceptive on children will make my life a fulfilled one because I will have been blessed by God in being part of a child’s life in a positive way. I want to continue to learn how to be an effective teacher and become an encouraging figure for a child’s life. Teaching is more than instructing or giving information to students.
Dealing with a multitude of problems and juggling an array of tasks in a small increment of time may seem tedious, but the fast pace environment deters from a stagnant and monotonous occupation. The intangible rewards, such as the variety of personalities within the classroom along with the memorable things students’ say and do, promote a positive and lively atmosphere in many classrooms. Developing personally while contributing to society is another reward that comes with being a professional educator. Being a teacher not only influences students, but also “…provides opportunities on a daily basis for personal and intellectual growth” (Kauchak & Eggen, 2014, p.7). With experience, an educator adapts to the environment, acquires beneficial teaching skills and implements knowledge for future generations to retain and apply.
Therefore, being small can be a drawback but it also can be a great advantage. While the IRA may be small, they have a good mission and are helping people all over the world. Professional organizations can offer a wealth of resources to educators and education professionals. They can advocate for you, help you build a network to collaborate with, help you build your career, keep you up-to-date with the latest practices, as well as policies in education. When it is time to graduate, I will more than likely join one or both of these professional organizations because their support will serve me well in my continuous quest for professional development.
To me, teaching is such a rewarding career because you have the ability to shape the minds of the future. But with this rewarding career also comes many responsibilities. As a teacher you must be able to realize all the needs of your students and be able to accommodate these needs. I think that this is one of the most important things that teachers must achieve. They should be able to teach not only to the smartest child in the classroom, but also to the slowest child in their classroom.
This type of teacher values respects and uses students’ ideas about how to develop their own learning. This teacher is effective because they know that they are making a difference in a child’s life and shaping their future.
Working with peers can also feel easier because they will most likely understand the position they are in at school and home. Benjamin Stoddard, author of the article "What is Peer to Peer Tutoring?" writes that "A peer tutor can form examples and relate to a student on an entirely different level than an adult educator". Most of the time this is not because of the adult, but caused by the students' diverse ways to learn the information. Communication is a useful skill that one can benefit from for many years with working in groups, with teachers, in jobs, and in life.
