The country has a mixed population; it is mixed within four groups, divided by religion, ethnicity, tribal differences and economic disparities. Sudan has a natural resource which is oil which was discovered in 1978, the oil is found in the South. (History) After Sudan gained independence from Britain on the 1st January 1956, the country has been at war more than it has been at peace with other neighbouring countries. (Team) Since 1970 Sudan was fighting against the Islamic central government in the North and the Christian and Animist population of the South. This was called the 1st civil war of Sudan.
Sudan’s Struggle for Unification and Peace The Comprehensive Peace Agreement of 2005 states, “The conflict in the Sudan is the longest running conflict in Africa… it has caused tragic loss of life, destroyed the infrastructure of the country, eroded its economic resources and caused suffering to the people of the Sudan” (“Sudan” Insight). Sudan faced the challenge of overcoming the ethnic division between Northern Sudan’s Arab heritage and Southern Sudan’s African heritage. Southern Sudan was isolated from the Northern region, which prevented Sudan from fully participating in the country's political, economic, and social life. This separation resulted in ethnic tension and caused racial clashes and dependence between the two groups. The turmoil and troubles in Sudan today began with a heavy Anglo- Egyptian influence on ancient-Sudan.
The two groups are severely divided in almost every aspect of their lives except that of living in the same place. Therefore there have been many tensions and genocide was the result of it. One side of the armed conflicts is composed mainly of the Sudanese military and the Janjaweed, while the other side comprises a variety of rebel groups, such as the Sudan Liberation Movement and the Justice and Equality Movement. Geographically, Sudan is divided in two north and south. The north part has Arab heritage, and the south part has the African heritages. These two groups of Sudanese are also divided in their language, racial, religious, and economical positions. The division of Sudan is related with its colonial and condominium history. The roots of that were basically the two rules that Sudan had during its history: Turko- Egyptian and British- Egyptian rules.

Norway is known for its unique culture, beautiful landscapes, interesting people, and rich history. Norway also moved from being one of the poorest nations to being one of the richest in 1959 because of its large amount of oil. Norway is located in Scandinavia and is north of Denmark and west of Sweden and has 323,802 square kilometers of land with 25,148 km of coastline. The capital is Oslo, which is located on the southern coast of the country. The national languages are Bokmal Norwegian and Nynorsk Norwegian, although English is widely spoken (CIA World Factbook, 2014).
This shows Sudanese resolve, they are willing to forfeit the economic status in order to eliminate these African tribes. As the worlds last superpower we have an obligation to protect those nearing extinction using any means necessary.
