The book I read was The Steve Jobs Way by Jay Elliot. Steve Jobs is famously known as the co-founder of Apple Computers Inc. along with Steve Wozniak. It is so different from other companies because of Steve Job’s determination to make a product like a consumer would want. For example he wanted the products to be very simple and easy to use. Jay Elliot first meets Steve Jobs at a restaurant after Elliot quits his job at Intel. Elliot begins his new job at the new company. The company has not grown yet, but they were working on the Lisa which was supposed to be the first Apple computer. It was later on replaced by the Macintosh because the Lisa was underpowered, heavy and expensive. Steve Job’s attitude towards his company reveals that he wants every bit of detail the way he wants it. He will not accept any denials because of his strong persistence.
Unfortunately, Steve Jobs needed a CEO to properly lead his company. John Sculley who was the CEO of Pepsi Co. replaced Steve Jobs for a period of time. That was also the time when Apple should manufacture the Mac or Apple II. Steve Jobs and John decided to manufacture the Mac. While Steve Jobs was gone he created NeXT Computer Inc. He also established Pixar and was successful. When Steve Jobs returned to Apple, he continued to create the ITunes music stores, iPods, iPhones, iMac and the iPad. Steve’s strong will to make his products pleasing to the consumers made his company grow large. Apple makes its products from a combination of Microsoft’s software, Sony’s gadgets and Dell’s computers. Apple and Steve Jobs have revolutionized computer technology at an alarming rate.
The themes from The Steve Jobs Way are structured by Steve Job’s leadership towards it. In fact the firs...

It also shows us how a legendary CEO would think and perhaps, one would use Steve Job’s strategies to create the next Apple Computers Inc. I highly suggest this book to whoever wants adventure or even learn how to make a corporation.
In conclusion, The Steve Jobs Way is like a story book on how the Apple Corporation was formed. As the title says, Apple was formed by Steve Job’s way or decisions. I learned more about Apple when reading this book. Apple Computers Incorporated is more than any traditional corporation; it is a corporation of innovation. Along with revolutionizing computers, Steve Jobs also made an impact upon the music world. This book must be read by all Apple fans and associates.

Steve Jobs was a transactional leader who influenced his employees to have a strong desire for work and provided them with vision. He was a task oriented leader his focus was more on task and organization performance than on people. Job got people to follow him rather they like him or not. Job was also an adaptive leader he used himself as an example to lead the company. Jobs was not concerned about how the employees felt his focus was only on their ideas. Jobs had the ability to motivated employees to accomplish more than what they could dream possible. Steve had a demanding personality and was a perfectionist.
Overall, this book does a great job explaining the complicated life of Steve Jobs. Blumenthal makes it feel like the readers actually knew Jobs. She provides accurate facts, and keeps the book entertaining at the same time. If people want to really get to know the real Steve Jobs, then this book does a good job doing exactly that. Readers will love this well organized, and exciting story. This book will also leave young readers inspired by both the works of Jobs and Blumenthal. They will how to, as Steve Jobs said, “think
In 1976 college dropouts Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, assisted by Ron Wayne embarked on a path to start a tech company that would create new innovative products by connecting people all over the world. Yet, through the joy of success and the agony of defeat, Apple has continued to reinvent its brand over four decades.
Way of Steve This documentary is all about the great person Steve the chief executive officer at Apple incorporation, his manner of leadership, master plans & the new thoughts of the most talented person. Before the death of Jobs his business achievements were really fabulous. The company was having a greater significance in the marketplace in the terms of stock & a special portion occupied by it. His work is of great importance that’s why the recent leaders want to get the same type of success like that of Steve but before carrying on his tactics one must have a clear depiction about the modes of management. About Jobs:
Steve’s work made him outrageously famous in popularity and fame. He emerged into the spotlight very quickly due to the co-founding of Apple Co. His popularity and fame increased over the years that he kept introducing new products for consumers to buy. Many people like to call him “once in a generation genius”. Steve Jobs (CEO and chairman of Apple Inc.) was an American entrepreneur and inventor. He was born in February 24, 1955 and founded Apple Inc. with his high school buddy Steve Wozniak in 1976. But later in 1976, when Apple was about to bankrupt he returned to it as advisor and Interim CEO. He made Apple profitable from near bankruptcy by 1998 (Walter Isaacson, 2013). From (1996-2011), he proved himself as one of the best engineering leaders of the world and made Apple the most innovative company of the world.
Steve Jobs and his friend Wozniak started to create their very first computer, and it came out a lot better than what they thought it was going to be. With very little education, the first computer that came out was extraordinary. “It was the first single-board computer with built-in circuitry allowing for direct video interface, along with a central ROM, which allowed it to load programs from an external source” (“Steve P. Jobs”). Without the education that most people get, for someone who dropped out of college, Jobs created such a powerful computer without the knowledge that most people have. Jobs computer that he created along with his friend was so astonishing a second computer came out. “A year later, the Apple II was launched with a simple, compact design like the Apple I, plus a color monitor” (“Steve Paul Jobs”). The first computer that Jobs created was excellent enough to create a second one, which was also a superior computer. Even though Jobs dropped out of college, he was still intelligent enough to create one of the biggest companies in the world. Apple incorporations was going strong until one day the company decided to let Steve Jobs go,...
He did not care about employees’ feelings; he only listened to their ideas and organization performance (Inside Apple, n.d). According to Inside Apple (n.d), “Steve was a demanding perfectionist with an aggressive and demanding personality. He demanded excellence from his staff delivered blunt criticisms.” Many people accused Steve as cruel to those work under him (Inside Apple, n.d). According to Inside Apple (n.d), “his personality was an important factor to the success of Apple. He acted as if normal rules didn’t apply to him, the passion, intensity, and emotionalism that he brought to work all poured out into the products he made. All of his imperfections and perfections collaborated to make Apple what it is.” Despite of his cruel personality, Steve jobs motivated his employees to innovate and create new ideas (Inside Apple, n.d). According to Inside Apple (n.d), “Steve Jobs fit in the transactional leadership description. He directed efforts of others through tasks and structures. Steve influenced his employees for strong desire of work, shared his passion with the staff, and provided vision. Steve Jobs was driven by his desire to create great products that he would enjoy using himself rather than products that would just bring profit to Apple.” Steve Jobs was successful in gaining customer loyalty. He created great services to his customers (Shephyken, n.d). According to Shephyken(n.d), “they have created a system,
It was Steve Jobs who made Apple leave the garage and make leaps and bounds in the world of technology. Steve Wozniak made the first prototype, but it was Jobs who “saw the potential” in his computer and persuaded Wozniak to sell it (Peterson 106). Even though that first computer saw very little success, Jobs knew that Apple had potential and so released the Apple II. From the beginning Jobs knew what the consumers wanted, and where computers were going to take the world; he had a vision of the opportunities in technology and saw that Apple needed to move in a different direction. In 1984, one year before he left, Jobs finished the Macintosh computer system. He was pushed from his original computer design project, “the Lisa”, and then raced to release the Mac first, but the Lisa was released to the public first. Although the Lisa came out first, the Mac “[became] synonymous with Apple, mark[ing] a…revolution in…personal computing,” (Peterson 106).
The selection of contemporary leader book was challenging at first, however after considering the attributes and qualities of different leadership styles Steve Jobs: Ten lessons in leadership written by Michael Essany was the best choice. This book discussed what can be learned as a leader and the lessons are relevant to my own leadership style. There is a direct relationship of the lessons and Steve Jobs’ leadership style identified including wait for nothing, fail big or don’t bother failing, limit your confidence to your field, there’s no substitute for passion, consider your legacy before you have one, and there’s always ‘one more thing’ (Essany, 2012). The lessons illustrated that Steve Jobs was progressive in his thinking and relentless to develop technological advancements that consumers could not live without. Therefore, Steve Jobs leadership style was influential and other entrepreneurs need to utilize these lessons in pursuit of similar success.

Wonzniak was an engineer and Jobs was a market maven and together they have the skills to build and properly promote. The computer they were trying to promote was fairly expensive computer. Jobs was so dedicated to this idea of transforming this computer from what it was to something that is able to be sold to the public he reached out to Bill Hewlett and asked him to donate some parts for a class projects .
Although Steve and Bill are competitors, there are similarities between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. Both of them are the most successful CEO’s in the world. Though they were college dropouts, but they still achieved a lot of success in their own way. Steve was a very innovative man. As the English proverb goes by “ Have no fear of perfection - you will never reach it.” by Salvador Dali. No matter how many times he failed, he could develop things from his own idea and turn them into a successful product. In 1979 Apple’s first product was introduced, people like it very much because of its simplicity and innovative ideas. Later on in year 1980, the company showed a tremendous performance, where its share rose by 32% (Messa, 1998). Similarly, Bill Gates was also like that, but just that Steve was in a company which makes hardware prod...
Steve Jobs one of the founding fathers of Apple Inc used strategic planning to his advantage by making Apple’s mission a simple one- bringing easy to use computers to the general market, revolutionizing the computer market. In 2007, after thirty years, the organization changed its name from Apple Computer to Apple Inc., this was a significant move because the organization became more independent, and it was no longer known as a vendor to Macintosh personal computer line (Yoffie & Slind, 2008). This strategic move paid off; a year and half later, Apple Inc.’s third quarter net profit of $1.07 billion on a $7.46 billion in revenue (Yoffie & Slind, 2008). SWOT Analysis of Apple, Inc.
