The Small Town of Nerja My favourite place would have to be a small town called Nerja situated in the Spanish region of Andalucia in the south of Spain. The town has been there for over 2000 years. Nerja is a coastal town and is situated between a vast field of mountains and the sea. It is full of steep hills that all lead down to the beach. All the way through the town there is a sense of tranquillity and rest. Although the town relies on tourism for income it is not like the more commercialised towns found further down the coast such as Toremilinos and Marbela. Throughout the year the town is full of beauty. In spring the trees blossom and plants grow. In summer the sea shines a beautiful blue and the sun rays blaze on the white buildings of the town. In autumn the town is covered in a thick blanket of pink flowers as if the town has been covered in strawberry Ice cream, and in winter, it rains. Almost all year round every house has flowers outside it; this makes it look like the painting on the wall in my room in the villa. The array of colours makes you feel happy and full of life. One of the reasons why I like going to Nerja is because we don't have to share a hotel with hundreds of people as we have our own villa. It has a cellar, 2 bedrooms a lounge/bedroom, a front-room/dining-room, two bathrooms and a kitchen. The villa has its own pool, two gardens, swings/climbing frame, a terrace and a roof terrace. At night the town comes alive, it is a different place altogether than
Wayne, transforms this painting into a three dimensional abstract piece of art. The focal point of the painting are the figures that look like letters and numbers that are in the front of the piece of art. This is where your eyes expend more time, also sometimes forgiving the background. The way the artist is trying to present this piece is showing happiness, excitement, and dreams. Happiness because he transmits with the bright colours. After probably 15 minutes on front of the painting I can feel that the artist tries to show his happiness, but in serene calm. The excitement that he presents with the letters, numbers and figures is a signal that he feels anxious about what the future is going to bring. Also in the way that the colors in the background are present he is showing that no matter how dark our day can be always will be light to

The lighting on the painting emphasizes the antique glow the painting has. The natural colors and dull texture further elicit the antique feel of the wooden cabinet and drapery.
For example, the church looks like the ones in Holland, where he used to live. The whirling lines in the sky, however, match published astronomical observations of clouds of dust and gas known as nebulae. It is both balanced and expressive, and the composition is structured by his ordered placement of the tree, steeple, and central nebulae, while his many short brush strokes and paint that is thickly applied set causes its surface to create a rolling motion. This combination of visual contrasts was created by an artist who discovered beauty and interest in the night, which, for him, was “much more alive and richly colored than the
images in this painting, all of which have the power to symbolize to us, the viewer, of the painter’s
Imagine pondering into a reconstruction of reality through only the visual sense. Without tasting, smelling, touching, or hearing, it may be hard to find oneself in an alternate universe through a piece of art work, which was the artist’s intended purpose. The eyes serve a much higher purpose than to view an object, the absorptions of electromagnetic waves allows for one to endeavor on a journey and enter a world of no limitation. During the 15th century, specifically the Early Renaissance, Flemish altarpieces swept Europe with their strong attention to details. Works of altarpieces were able to encompass significant details that the audience may typically only pay a cursory glance. The size of altarpieces was its most obvious feat but also its most important. Artists, such as Jan van Eyck, Melchior Broederlam, and Robert Campin, contributed to the vast growth of the Early Renaissance by enhancing visual effects with the use of pious symbols. Jan van Eyck embodied the “rebirth” later labeled as the Renaissance by employing his method of oils at such a level that he was once credited for being the inventor of oil painting. Although van Eyck, Broederlam, and Campin each contributed to the rise of the Early Renaissance, van Eyck’s altarpiece Adoration of the Mystic Lamb epitomized the artworks produced during this time period by vividly incorporating symbols to reconstruct the teachings of Christianity.
Surrounded by paintings. Surrounded by color. My eyes traveled from painting to painting, taking me to new places. Finally, I landed at home. Titanium white spread on with a palette knife, with burst of colors painted with a dry brush. I was drawn to Autumn Lilies like a magnet to metal. I saw myself taking the brush from Mary G. L. Hood. I saw myself painting this painting.
Painted by Vincent Van Gogh during a final burst of activity in Auvers before his suicide in July, Houses at Auvers features many of the characteristic elements typical of Van Gogh; the experimentation with color, texture, and thick brush strokes. This painting depicts the view and landscape in early summer, highlighting the patchwork of houses and the rolling greenery. Van Gogh’s unique, thick brush strokes lead the eyes through the painting, create texture and patterns and also highlight and shadow objects in the early summer sun, while his experimentation with color creates contrast and a bright, vibrant image.
When I was a kid my parents always took me to Nathdwara to take the blessings of Lord Krishna every now and then because my parents are so religious. So by going there several times I am also attached to that place. Actually Nathdwara is situated in Rajasthan state and I live in the state called Gujarat and in the city called as Ahmedabad. It takes six hours drive from my city to Nathdwara and this is the only nearest place where I could get mental peace. This is very important place for me and my family because it is a tradition of our family that whoever goes there gives free food to the hungry and poor people. We do so because we think that if we do good work in our life we will be allowed by god to go to the heaven. [The two states on the left are Gujarat and Rajasthan. One in light blue color is Gujarat with the arrows and on the top of it with cream color is Rajasthan. I live in the middle of the state and Nathdwara is at the border of the Rajasthan]

When I imagine an artist, I picture a Parisian dabbing at a sprawling masterpiece between drags on a cigarette seated in an extravagantly long holder. He stands amid a motley sea of color, great splashes of vermillion and ultramarine and yellow ochre hiding the tarp on the studio floor. Somehow, not one lonely drop of paint adorns his Italian leather shoes with their pointed toes like baguettes.
Another is the interesting set of images if found if the observer flips the painting over. Here in the left half of the painting there are two images, one of a puppet and an observer kneeling to view the show.
...e others look very real and shaded. The landscape goes back in the distance and is done with great perspective but some areas aren't so deeply painted as others which if looked closely upon can throw a viewer on what type of painting it should be considered. One of the Magi has such detail and depth in one view of his wardrobe that it looks like a picture but then you look at the front surface and it's almost perfectly flat.
I’ve finally made it. When you first land here the immediate difference is all around you whizzing around you creating a sense of life. It 's a sense that you rarely have in a small town it 's bigger I can’t quite obtain a hold of it. It moves fast all through the night and during the day. It peaks in all of my senses to create a brand new sense of the life of the city.
