Imagine living in a world where the public believed everything the government said, or a world where people did not question the authority. It would suck, right? Well believe it or not today’s society is faced with problems similar to those, and often people cannot see these problems while others do not realize that they are serious issues. Thankfully thanks to technology, we are able to bring awareness of these issues by placing emphasis on them.
When you sit down to watch Television after a long day you never give a thought to the possible message or real world comparisons within the episode. After watching and analysing an original episode of The Simpsons my eyes were opened to the message that was buried within the cartoon. In Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment, the writer Matt Groening uses the Simpson family to display a natural struggle between the Id, Ego, and Superego. The episode features the internal conflict between pleasure and reality while expanding it to the world around the characters as well.
...now best but the mother and women are moving up in the world. On the show, Lisa is seen to be the smartest in the family; she has a lot more knowledge compared to Homer and Marge.

His goal in life is to provide and do anything he could for his family. Throughout the whole episode in Father Knows Best, the father is always in his tuxedo telling the audience that he is a hardworking man. For most of the episode, the mother is always in the house as the children are running in and out of the house. In Everybody Loves Raymond, the mother comes home to a clean house and is utterly impressed with Raymond. American values are presented as well through simple struggles such as, in Everybody Loves Raymond, a huge controversy arose when Raymond gave his mother a Fruit of the Month Club and his mother reacted irritated with the amount of fruits coming in every
The second oldest daughter Denise Huxtable had the gift of a good sense of humor. She liked to test her parents with her rather eccentric dress and viewpoints on life. The only son Theo Huxtable was an extroverted and witty young man. He played out the typical teenage boy role of putting friends, cars, and girls before school. Vanessa Huxtable, the second youngest daughter was an intelligent girl, who often came off very air-headed in the show. Her focus during the show was to give off a b...
Watching an episode of The Simpsons relates back to the humor used in Rabelais. Gragantua and the character Bart share somewhat the same similarities when it comes to humor they are brave, entertaining, curious and humorous characters. Both authors bring a sense to of humor to their audience by including degradation, exaggeration and a sense of humor. This contemporary cultural of The Simpsons is more upto date and humorous due to the generation we live in and a lot of the humor brought within the show is based off of degradation from other entertainment such as movies, TV shows, books and celebrities, whereas Rabelais is based off more modern day humor and degradation that when readers read the story of “How Gargantua’s wonderful understanding
...e can be flamboyant and peppy. Stewie's genius is what makes people love him. His genius is what makes the show entertaining. The Griffins are one of the most difficult families on television, and without them Family Guy would not be what it is today.

Their father, Beck, left the family when the children were young, the oldest one being about thirteen. Pearl was a major perfectionist, as well as an abusive mother. Of course, this had an effect on her children. Her middle son, Ezra, was the favorite child of the family. He was always trying to pull the family together. One of his tactics was through a dinner- he loved to cook, so he always tried to make a nice dinner for his family, that way they could enjoy one meal together. However, the family never made it through a single meal. Cody, the oldest son, was extremely jealous of Ezra. Every single thing that went wrong in his life, he blamed on Ezra, even though most things had nothing to do with Ezra. This jealously continued well into his adult life, to the point where he believed that even his wife preferred Ezra over himself. Jenny, the only daughter, remained afraid of her mother well into adulthood. She found herself following in her mother's footsteps, by mistreating her
It is evident that The Simpsons parodies a variety of everyday encounters faced by an individual. Almost no one nor is anything safe from the writers of The Simpsons and their mockeries. That said The Simpsons indeed has a deeper message aside from the idiocies that the show presents as comedy. The Simpsons consists of intricate ideas that combine to create a show that acts as a satire for American culture.

After twenty five seasons, The Simpsons continues to be an influential show. With animation as a medium, the writers use satire to point out the stereotypes the media generates. In some instances, they take a stereotype and push it to the extreme, like Apu and his eight children, and other times they go against the social norms, like Lisa being a strong independent woman. Through this the viewers are reminded just how much say the media has in their perception of others and how they are constantly making judgments of any entire group of people based on the characteristics of some. I do not think that stereotypes will ever cease to exist, but I do believe that it is important we, at the very least, are aware of what they are.
The Mom And Pop Art is a animated cartoon, which seems to be absurd. But I believe the well- designed plots are ironic to the social fact. Homer Simpson’s experience is quite similar to many things
Spending most of his time in high school smoking, drinking beer, and getting into trouble, (He even met his wife, Marge, while serving detention.) Homer’s lack of motivation for achievement grew with him into adulthood. The fat, balding character ends up working in Sector 7G of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, where he holds the record for most years worked at an entry level position. Even in the opening credits of the show, he is seen negligently tossing aside radioactive waste as the whistle blows to end the workday. In addition to his laziness at work, his sloth is also displayed in his free time where he is seen either lounging on his couch while indulging in donuts and watching anything that comes on television or drinking at Moe’s Tavern with his lifelong friends, Barney, Carl, Lenny, and Moe.
