The definition of a psychopath is a person suffering from chronic mental disorder with abnormal or violent social behavior. The label “psychopath” cannot be placed on a child who is developing emotionally, mentally, or physically. A child’s brain is finished developing way past their teenage years. Most of the time when a child would be considered a psychopath is parents did not teach their children proper respect and they lacked parenting skills. The child just repeated what they saw and knew and continued to do wrong things throughout their life because they didn’t know until it was too late.
There are many diseases and disorders that plague today’s society, but one of the most serious of those disorders is autism. Autism is not nearly as widely known as the familiar Down’s Syndrome, yet, surprisingly, autism is far more widespread. In fact, autism is the third most common developmental disability, affecting 400,000 people worldwide (Autism Society of America). As of yet there is no cure for this debilitating disorder, only a variety of treatments. Autism is a developmental disability, not a mental illness, that typically appears during the first three years of life and affects 15 of every 10,000 individuals.

They do not maintain eye contact and seem barely able to distinguish their parents from strangers. They ignore other children and prefer repetitious, solitary play, such as staring at revolving objects. Their air of detachment and drive for solitude sometimes create the impression that they come from or live in a world not ours, and it has been suggested that autism is the source of stories about children who are fairy changelings (Harrison, 1996). There are many questions as to what exactly causes autism. Prospective studies of young children (18-24 months) have highlighted the importance of social-communicative functions as early predictors of a later, more reliable diagnosis of autism (Baron-Cohen et al.,
He also points out that kids are “being denied opportunities to experience what were normative rites of passage a generation ago” (258) This shows that kids with overprotective parents aren 't getting the same experiences that kids once got, and what others are getting. Sierra wasn’t getting half of the same experiences of her peers and I because her parents wouldn 't allow it. I felt bad for my friend Sierra; it really made me realize the affects of strict parents on kids. It held her back from experiences that everyone should experience and take with them throughout their
Signs and symptoms normally appear between the ages of two and three, but there are early signs. There has been research for this disorder on the subject of causes, but the causes are unknown for the most part. The effects are complicated as well, and follow no specific rule, just a few outlines. There is not even one type of Autism, just the autistic spectrum, which encompasses all the different intensity levels of Autism. Autism is caused by many things, and not one in particular, but includes genetic vulnerability, complications during pregnancy, and various environmental factors, but the effects can be from social habits, behavior, and communication.
