Even though, police brutality is a big problem, it is only proving the police wrong when it is clear they are trained to serve and protect with a lot of different protocols in the process of the whole situation. The police would only react to a perp violently and with force if they felt threatened and when this happens local news and internet makes it look as if police are the bad guys which in some situations they are, but others they aren 't they are just doing their job as officers to serve and protect. Three possible solutions to this problem would be firing the officer, giving them jail time, or even treating them as they treated the victim for reasons that did not require brutal force, but in other cases the pipe should be the one in
We can put a stop to this and we will put a stop to this. If you ask a police officer their perspective on police brutality, their response will be much different from a civilian’s. They believe that some inexperienced or new to the job officers take quick action without thinking because they are under stress due to the situation they are put in. Just because you fire the “bad” police officers and hire “good” police officers doesn’t mean you are making a change. Another statement made by police officers is that the media transfigures the evidence and make them look like the bad person in the scene.
Police brutality is when a police officer uses unnecessary and excessive force on a suspect, but can also include verbal attacks and psychological intimidation. Police brutality is one of the several forms of police misconduct, along with false arrest; intimidation; racial profiling; political repression; surveillance abuse; sexual abuse; and police corruption. Police brutality is in almost every country, even in places where it is illegal. Examples are in Ukraine, Quebec and Los Angeles. Why do police officers be brutal to people they want to protect?
They are abusing the power that they have been given. The communities have begun not to trust the police because of their conduct toward the citizens. People have been beaten and harassed by the guys in blue. People in the communities have seen the police push individuals around and take things from individuals for no reason. People receive the wrong message.
Police Officer’s beat people, shoot people and harm people (abuse of power) and blame it on the civilian they are harming. Most of the time the police officer’s will be believed over the civilian. When police officer’s abuse their power this leads to lack of trust between police officers and civilians. This also leads to lack of trust between police officers and communities. This divides us and makes us afraid of one another.
Whether it is the simple things like arresting people, and whether it is the horrible things like shootings and beating people. Many say that officers are just doing their jobs and protecting people, but it is never okay with hurting innocent people. Many have been severely injured or even worse, dead because of the extreme force that some police officers are used in certain situations. Whether people want to admit it or not, police officers should not be using such force. I understand if someone is coming at them, or they are harming someone else and they can 't do anything but to shoot, but if an innocent, unarmed citizen is walking the streets of their neighborhood they should feel safe.
The activity caused by police corruption is the reason police brutality takes place. If a person does not do what the police officer at the time wants them to do, the officer may take it to heart and use violent force, which we know as police brutality. At times I do believe that race places a big role when it comes now to police corruption, because racism in police treatment of minorities has created great disparities in incarceration amongst the
Police officers used to be looked up to in society, but now they are targeted by the public and the media. Many people don’t treat them like human beings anymore. They swear at them call them obscene names and often get threats of harm because of the one sided videos taken of them during encounters with a potentially dangerous individual.
Over the years, criminologist has ignored the effect crime have on their victims and concentrated on how it affects the state and the society. Therefore, this essay will show how Left Realist created awareness of the problems that victims of crime face and how serious this crime has affected them. Left Realist position in criminology was fundamental and practical in their dealing with crime and its causes. However, they believed that inequalities have something to do with crime within class, race and gender, because these it affect how the society live. Their argument was that, crimes occur because of the way people always compete and the aggression of male control, which creates more crime (Julianhermida, N.D).
