The Shackleton movie is about how Ernest Shackleton lead the 27 men to Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition. As the weather turns ever colder, the pack ice thickens and winter storms drive the floe together with increasing pressure and violence. They save as much food and material as possible, and the expedition's dogs, sledges, and boats, are stockpiled on the floe. The crew starts a makeshift home and names the drifting place Ocean Camp. Over the next few weeks the crew continues save operations as Endurance is slowly but totally crushed. In late November, 1915, Endurance finally slips entirely beneath the sea, meanwhile the beginning floe has collapse under pressure and the crew has move to a larger, stronger floe and accepted Patience Camp. …show more content…

Then, with five other men, he sets sail in late April, 1918, in what is maybe the most dangerous sea on the planet in a twenty two foot open boat provided with improvise sails. For many days the battered and weary crew fights gales and traverses several hundred nautical miles to finally make landfall on South Georgia island the closest near outpost of progress. but, they land on the far-side of the island which is bisected by treacherous mountains. Fearing that the small boat is now too not enough to sail to round the island, Shackleton and the two strongest men set out to cross the island a feat never before accomplished. In a few days of incredible mountain climber and blind luck they manage to gain the far shore, locate the tiny whaling outpost, and secure their own survival. The men on the other side of South Georgia Island are quickly save. Shackleton then begin on a run of around saving try to reach Elephant Island and recover the remainder of his crew. Different try fail due to weather, ice, or collapse ship condition. At the end of August, 1916, but Shackleton and his rescue party finally reach the much depressed survivors and take them from the hard waterside of their makeshift home. They remind me of this quote “ we lost as a team we win as a team.” They were really inspirational and strong to me because they went to a long journey. They had face a lot of difficulties but still they work as a group to survive. The saddest moment was when they eat the dogs but again they have to eat because they’re starving and they have to go to this long journey. I am sure they don’t want to but they have to to survive. I can’t believe that they live in there almost 2 years but still they survive. In group like this they have to trust each other and work together. I wonder how some of the men have to push the boat into water and why they don’t complain. But I think maybe they talks to each other who do what and next time different people do that job. I will say they are the great example of group. They stick with each other no matter what the struggle
