Abstract Here is a summary of 2pac's life and death: When Tupac was born on June 16th, 1971 his mom, a member of the Black Panthers was in jail for bombing. When they got out 2pac's family went to Harlem, where his mother began using crack. He had no contact with his biological father, Billy Garland, until he was an adult. Shakur was originally named Lesane Parish Crooks, but his moniker was soon changed to Tupac Amaru Shakur. "Tupac Amaru" means "shining serpent." He had a difficult childhood, moving frequently around in the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn and the Bronx. He was birth into a place of hardship and struggle, and that made one of Tupac's obstacles would be trying try to get through life with little to no money and trying to stay out of trouble in an environment that was filled with violence. Growing up under these conditions filled with emotional moments of hunger, mental pain, abandonment, and natural of his environment. All together motivated him to write poems to express himself and release the things he had built up within. My favorite poems I love would have to be In the Depths of Solitude, I Cry, Can You See the Pride In the Panther, Untitled 1, and many more. His poems weren’t getting the attention he hoped, so he start using his poetry in a form of music to catch people attention. He also talks about how he feel that poetry and music are nearly the same. Tupac overcame these obstacles by staying focused not giving up on his mother or himself and working hard. Tupac also served a lot of time behind bars and had time to think about his actions and he wrote about his life including the mistakes he made. He was also was able to start a new life and make peace with himself which is what a lot of people born in that type of environment have to do in order to progress in life.
