I chose this Rock group because it brings back memories of when my father always sang to their music apart from the Beatles. I remember the happy, beefy chords of “Start me up” weekend mornings in the house. I believe that this group did more to express rock and it’s core. The Rolling Stones, described themselves and by fan-supported, is “The World’s Greatest Rock and Roll Band.” The Rolling Stones is well into its fifth decade singing together as a group. They are the longest-lived, continuous performing band in the history of music. The main line-up consisted of guitar and harmonica player Brian Jones, Piano player Ian Stewart, lead vocals and harmonica Mick Jagger, Guitar player Keith Richards, bass player Bill Wyman, and drum player Charlie Watts. Over the time the band has made personnel modifications and well as collaborations with many talented musicians. In the present-day the Rolling stones line up consists of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Rond Wood and Charlie Watts. Originally the Rolling Stones started as a Rhythm and blues band but their sole rock and roll sound they produced was later characterized as “hard rock”. Over the path of their striking career they often tested with just about every kind of music but still never strolled away from the blues. The Rolling Stones started covering the blues and rhythm and blues music as well as converting pop rockabilly songs into rhythm and blues songs such as their first American single a cover of Buddy Holly’s not fade “Not fade away (1964). Their first recorded and released song in the UK was Chuck Berry’s “Come on” in 1963 and also Willie Dixon’s “I wanna Be Loved”. The famous red “tongue” logo was designed by John Pasche and the band actively still uses it today. The bands release song was Sticky Fingers and its first single “Brown Sugar”. The album contained a provoking cover that featured a working zipper. While containing many concrete songs they never reached the success they had earlier. Keith Richards was arrested on drug charges, including heroin trafficking where he faced up to seven years in prison if convicted. Richard was eventually sentenced to perform a benefit concert for the blinds.
