Chief information officer is a job title commonly given to the person in a serious responsible for the information technology and computer system that support serious goals. They are managers who are united in one group whereby they are responsible and accountable for this firms of information management practises. They are the highest ranking in having the power to put plans or action into effect, in charge of information management practises. The CIO must have the following skills: must be a leader that has the ability to think of influence the business decisions made by the organisations, must be able to integrate ideas and understand the business, they must be able to respect people so that you can earn the trust, be an effective communicator, develop some IT staff by their own, take care of a relationship with others and be agent of change to meet the business needs. The CIO is being hired as an expert in strategy, caretaker of the infrastructure. They are expected to take care of the infrastructure delegate that duties. They are selected by the CEO and the people into the top management team as a translator of technology into terms and forms they can use in their respective interest. The CIO has a power to act as the first mover with respect to technology
The CIO acts as a chief evangelist for the organisations. The CIO must provide the answer to the important questions and then sell the solutions. Every CIO positions comes with a different set of competencies. The chief information officer role is to provide vision and management for developing information technology initiatives. It directs the planning and implementation of enterprise of IT systems.
