A positive role model is defined as a person who serves as an example of the values, attitudes, and behaviours associated with a role. To be a positive role model there are multiple characteristics one must have. To improve the organisation for the good of its staff would be a positive role models desire. They want the business to succeed and always be improving so that the staff can benefit, a positive role model shows commitment to the organisation and the staff. To be a positive role model one must have good judgment and have the ability to see the “big picture”. When an issue or situation occurs a positive role model has a look at the entire perspective and thinks about the consequences for the future instead of only paying attention …show more content…
Turn off all distractions and sit yourself down in front of your schoolwork and avoid getting distracted by things. Close out of all browser windows that are not needed, put your phone out of sight and find a quiet place to work. Concentrate on the task.
A planner or a calendar on a computer or phone could be used to help manage priorities effectively. A planner would set out all the tasks that need to be done and can be ticked off when completed. An alarm clock on a phone would also be helpful as you can set an alarm for a specific amount of time that the task needs to be done in, this would contribute with completing multiple tasks that are due in a certain amount of time.
Stress can encourage students to start work however it can also make the students so extremely stressed that they won’t do it. When stressed with work it can affect how much effort they put into the work. Students are always stressed as they tend to leave work to the last minute. The stress results in the student doing the work however they do not use all of their potential. A way to relieve the stress is to set out a plan of when to do the tasks instead of leaving all of them to the day
Nowadays, stress is a major burden in the daily life of the average student, and it seems harder and harder to tackle it and eliminate all the factors that cause it. Students find it hard to concentrate on studying since there are a lot of deadlines and exams causing additional pressure. Stress in the form of anxiety and worry about past or future study-related experiences disturbs one’s well-being and students are not doing well anymore (Schutz & Davis, 2000).
Technological gadgets which promote internet surfing, gaming, chatting, gossip, etc. have become very ubiquitous across most educational levels today all over the world. Though technology in itself is a great tool to enhance learning, it can also become a student’s biggest distraction if care is not taken. I am not going to leave you helpless. Below are some tips on how to avoid distractions. These tips also help you avoid procrastination too.
The idea of approaching leadership from the standpoint of values has been echoed in several studies. O’Toole (1995) compared and contrasted contingency and situational approach to leadership with value-based leadership. He stated that all leadership styles eventually enforces the individuals to follow what their leader commands them to do rather than focusing on what is the will of the followers – this he called as disrespect for the individuals. It is important for the leader to understand, why people are resistant to change in reality and must make a personal commitment to overcome this resistance to changing environment or culture. He suggested that if the company wants to initiate change that is constructive, focus must be placed on the
Relationship also can be considered as main cause of stress. Physical health problem and social activity problem. If the students are organize there will be less stress.
A good role model sets the path for others to follow, by being outstanding in all they do. Naturally, people learn by observing, more than by listening. This enables people learn what they can observe easily as compared to what they hear. When a leader becomes a role model, there is a likelihood they will comprehend better what the people being led go through, hence the leader will impose practical expectations on the followers (Charles 9).
As children, we look to our parents to teach us skills that we need in everyday life, whether it be social skills or how to. Yet for a variety of reasons, some children do not have this personal role model for them to follow and learn from. For these children, their teachers may be the first adult to give them any sort of attention or care. As a result, a teacher can play a huge impact in a young child’s life. The Allentown School District’s high schools are both considered Title I schools, meaning that over 40% of the school’s students come from families that are legally considered low-income (www2.ed.gov). In the ASD, this number is nearly doubled at 88.7% (www.allentownsd.org). Most likely, these students come from homes in which the adults they live with are working most of the day and
How to Deal With StressMany students go to school full time, and hold a part time job to earn money for school. Most students have about four classes, and each of the teacher’s of these classes gives an average of about an hour of homework each night; that averages out to four hours per night of homework, plus a part time job. School causes a lot of students stress because there are so many things to do, and so little time to do it. Stress is a normal part of everyone’s life; and is not a disease. It is not necessarily good or bad; however, reactions to stress can be harmful. Lack of time puts the stress on many students, and causes students to often procrastinate because they are constantly trying to meet deadlines and they don’t have the time to work on their assignments. Many students feel their grades are important; they need plenty of time to work on their work so they can do good. I can relate to them because if I get a low grade I get disgusted because I put a lot of time and effort in doing that assignment. But I think that a lot of the stress from school is caused, not only by the teachers, but also from the students to do well. Students put too much stress on themselves. A student just has to learn to manage their time well and just do as good as possible. Stress management involves the effort of that student to make emotional and physical changes.
On any given day, my time regardless of how planned it is by making lists can be thrown off track due to usually a sick child/pet. No matter how hard I try, I know my kids will get sick and they will expect me to take care of. Since I cannot usually control when that will happen, it’s important that I take advantage of what I can control, such looking ahead at assignments that will need my attention to plan adequate time to complete assignments a head of time, instead of waiting till the last minute. When I know what to expect I can make plans. Another
Effective leadership, commonly regarded as both a learned skill and innate ability, is an essential characteristic of successful organizations (Northouse, 2016). Great leaders are said to define purpose, create a vision for the future, set high ethical standards, and guide their organizations through many circumstances and into new directions (Morrill, 2007; Parris & Peachey, 2012). Leadership is also described as complex – it can mean different things to different people. Given there is no standard approach to leadership, scholars focus on the process of leadership as opposed to the definition (Northouse, 2016). As a process, leadership is not simply possessing
Being a good leader means being able to guide people or organizations such as businesses. Being a leader means you have leadership in you, it means you have a set of skills that not everyone can possess and you can apply them to the situation that you are in. Not everyone can be a leader because not everyone can step up and take over a situation or maybe they don’t care enough to do something about it. A leader has to possess the following and more qualities, honesty, communication skills, confidence, commitment, intuition, a positive attitude, and creativity.

Looking at my own approach to time management I have noticed that I am well organised and good at prioritising tasks and jobs. When I log onto my computer to start my shift I am sent down numerous jobs, each job is different and has different deadlines for attendance and completion. I plan my day based around the date and time deadlines of the jobs and also the locations of the jobs. I then schedule the most effective order of completing the jobs, putting high priority jobs at the top of my list and grouping sites that are geographically close to each other. By effectively planning my day I keep a focused attitude towards my work and I have time to think about tasks and situations, rather tha...

We’ve all had are moments when we wanted to be a hero, to wear a cape, and help others who felt they needed a helping hand. Being a hero can be so much more than saving someone from a life or death situation. In the ancient Greece modern time, a hero was a woman who was well-known and would obtain a status after a death of a lover. To the Greeks, the urgency of heroes was a mythical thing because it molded the future “heroes” (Kreyche p. 82). This dates to today’s heroes. Every mythical and non-mythical story has its heroes, especially the ones kids have created in books and movies. The definition of heroes has progressively changed throughout the years. Today, our heroes consist of a person having “great courage, especially for a noble purpose” (“heroism”). Throughout the years, heroism has been created to show one’s grateful purpose, their effects of being a hero, and what it took to keep the status of a “hero”.
Everyone has their own definition of a strong person. A strong person to me is a person that can overcome the adversities in life positively. My friend Ivery, my dad, and my sister can be boldly described as a strong person in so many ways. In order to be characterized as a strong person you have to be stable-minded, courageous, and honest. Every strong person has their own character traits but there are some that stand out more than others. Some people may define people strong by their physical strengths. Others might say you are strong because you didn’t cry when you should have cried. Defining a strong person is based off of your perception of something. There are three people that demonstrate strong qualities as an individual.
