The time period known as the Roaring 20’s was filled with a lot of changes and exciting times. Every age and gender were affected by this era. Many of the changes during this time are still in place today. From courting and dating, the etiquette of women, to the changing of our education. Multiple things from the 1920’s are still being used today in our everyday life; from jobs to clothing to careers. Although there are countless names for the 1920’s the main terms are “The Roaring 20’s” and the Jazz Age. Jazz Clubs were a popular hangout spot for many of the teenagers, as well as adults. Movies and Speakeasies were fairly new during this time and that is where most of the public spent time together while having their entertainment. The Roaring 20’s was the era of romance, excitement, and remembered as the time of America becoming modern. One of the things that transformed was dancing. During this, the Charleston, the Tango, and the Shimmy became popular amongst the teenage community (teens.lovetoknow.com). Many teens wore bomber jackets to look similar to the fighter pilots from previous wars. The country was financially stable enough for many of the teenagers to effortlessly find jobs. A large amount of the teenage population chose not to finish their education due to a steady career job. They dropped out of school to pursue their career and making money. Since they had stable jobs they could afford living on their own, which is what most of them did. While living on their own, paying bills and working jobs, they matured rather rapidly.
