The Rite Care Medical Center is one of the medical centers in Staten Island, New York aims to provide a high quality health care for all the residents of community of Staten Island and its neighbors. The Staten Island is multicultural and diverse borough. The demographics of Rite Care Medical Center generally reflect the community; the majority of the staff is non-Hispanic white and the female represented about 50% of staff. This model concerns competing goals, how the parties treat each other, how the parties perceive their self in the interaction, and what communication process will be used. TRIP model concerns also the real or perceived power which may drive the focus of the goal. When the topic, relationship, identity, and the process issues increase in importance in a conflict, a negotiation can provide a process of problem solving (Hocker & Wilmot, 2014). The alternative model that can be used to analyze the issue is fishbone model as it identifies the possible causes of the problems and sorts them into useful categories to help solving the problem. The current Processes in place by organization to address the issue is ineffective. Although the decreasing the employees’ satisfaction was reported, the leaders of medical center did not take an action to facilitate the internal communication or to develop the appropriate policies and procedures.

Poor communication between the physicians and utilization department - Create open dialogue through a bi-monthly newsletter or quarterly meetings that encourage questions and comments.
-Develop online tools that can be used to facilitate communication to save the time.
-Develop communication survey. The hospital leaders,
SGH has been plagued with patient quality issues, therefore SGH finds itself in a situation which is inherently antithetical to the mission of the hospital. The costs of healthcare continue to rise at an alarming rate, and hospital boards are experiencing increased scrutiny in their ability, and role, in ensuring patient quality (Millar, Freeman, & Mannion, 2015). Many internal actors are involved in patient quality, from the physicians, nurses, pharmacists and IT administrators, creating a complex internal system. When IT projects, such as the CPOE initiative fail, the project team members, and the organization as a whole, may experience negative emotions that impede the ability to learn from the experience (Shepherd, Patzelt, & Wolfe, 2011). The SGH executive management team must refocus the organization on the primary goal of patient
The cost of Medical equipment plays a significant role in the delivery of health care. The clinical engineering at Victoria Hospital is an important branch of the hospital team management that are working to strategies ways to improve quality of service and lower cost repairs of equipments. The team members from Biomedical and maintenance engineering’s roles are to ensure utilization of quality equipments such as endoscope and minimize length of repair time. All these issues are a major influence in the hospital’s project cost. For example, Victory hospital, which is located in Canada, is in the process of evaluating different options to decrease cost of its endoscope repair. This equipment is use in the endoscopy department for gastroenterological and surgical procedures. In 1993, 2,500 cases where approximately performed and extensive maintenance of the equipment where needed before and after each of those cases. Despite the appropriate care of the scope, repair requirement where still needed. The total cost of repair that year was $60,000 and the repair services where done by an original equipment manufacturers in Ontario.
General Practices Affiliates is considering an offer from Titus Lake Hospital to join under a provider leasing model. Under a provider leasing model, Titus Lake Hospital is purchasing General Practices Affiliates’ services. The practice will retain control of personnel, management, and practice policies. Titus Lake Hospital submitted financial reports to assure transparency during the lease agreement process. The following analysis will discuss whether Titus Lake hospital is a viable financial partner for General Practice Affiliates, possible implications of the lease, and recommendations.
Memorial Medical Center was situated “three feet below sea level, which is on one of the low points in the bowl in New Orleans (Fink, Sheri, 2009).” This hospital served as a “shelter whenever hurricanes threatened: employees would bring their families and pets, as well as coolers packed with food (Fink, Sheri, 2009).” Having 2,000 people taking shelter in this hospital on top of 200 patients, and over 600 workers in one place during a category 5 hurricane, ran a huge risk. This was not something that was assessed, because the author stated, “this is something that citizens who live around the hospital normally do during a crisis like this (Fink, Sheri, 2009).” I also do not think that individuals believed that Hurricane Katrina would have been as bad as it was, because this is the storm that is considered to be a “lesson learned (President George W. Bush, 2005)”.
The situation at the Twin Oaks Hospital is a conundrum that every human resource function would not like to be involved. It is a scenario that has the potential to derail the services of the medical facility. The primary issue, in this case, is remuneration. Employees are demanding an improved wage system that reflects on the services that they offer. In the claims, there appears to be an array of disparities that the line managers must give a response. Seemingly, there have been some grumbles over the wage structure. Employees who give the same value of services are paid varying amounts of money. Ordinarily, if workers discover such a disparity, they are likely to stage a go-slow in protest. There is,
When it comes to medicinal services, it 's difficult to manage, individuals become ill on consistent schedule and they begin to regard the crisis room as walk- in clinics. The conveying of human services to
A two car accident Friday in downtown Heartland sent three people to the hospital with moderate injuries.
This paper’s brief intent is to identify the policies and procedures currently being developed at Midwest Hospital. It identifies how the company’s Management Committee was formed and how they problem solved and delegated responsibilities. This paper recognizes the hospital’s greatest attributes and their weakest link. Midwest Hospital hired Dr. Herb Davis to help facilitate the development and implementation of resolutions for each issue.

Employee job satisfaction is also an issue faced by Coastal Medical Center’s staff. It is important the employees enjoy their job so that performance will be efficient and of higher quality. When employees are satisfied and happy with their job, performance improves and it becomes apparent to the patients. It was also mentioned that the staff does not have a chance to be heard b...
There are many different causal reasons for the existence of this problem with employee satisfaction and morale. In this paper, I will address what I believe to be the most important factors that contribute to this problem. This employee satisfaction problem, and its causal and symptomatic problems, impacts the department in many ways. For example, we have lost valuable employees resulting in unnecessary attrition. There is a loss in productivity that results from the time and energy that many employees spend dealing with components and symptoms of the individual problems. This wasted t...
The purpose of this paper is to examine the Heritage Valley Medical Center case study. The paper will start off with a brief background of Heritage Valley, along with a summary of the major problems and issues faced there. Next, the author will explain the role that was chosen while addressing the challenges of Heritage Valley and their reasoning in doing so. The author will then identify the strengths and weaknesses of Heritage Valley and offer to select the best alternative and recommended solutions, which will be followed by a brief description of the evaluation plan that could be used to measure the effectiveness of the recommended solution.
This model distinguishes six possible sources of conflict that may arise: incompatible goals, differentiation, interdependence, scarce resources, ambiguous rules, and communication problem (McShane and Von Glinow 332-333). Incompatible goals involves that “the goal of one person or department seem to interfere with another person’s or department’s goal” (McShane and Von Glinow 333). Differentiation is described as the “difference among people, departments, and other entities regarding their training, values, beliefs, and experiences” (McShane and Von Glinow 333). Interdependence “occurs where individuals operate interdependently except for reliance on a common source or authority” (McShane and Von Glinow 335). Scarce Resources are a source of conflict when several persons or units require the same recourse to fulfill their goals. Ambiguous Rules occur as a source of conflict because “uncertainty increases the risk that one party intends to interfere with the other party’s goals” (McShane and Von Glinow 335). Communication Problems are a source of conflict “due to the lack of opportunity, ability, or motivation to communicate effectively” (McShane and Von Glinow 333).
Conflict management model is propounded effective when the result of conflict is productive or acceptable for all the parties involved. The main motive of any conflict management model is to reduce the impact of conflict on negative note and guide parties towards agreement and strong relationship. This study is to analyze the effectiveness of Rahim’s Meta or Dual concern model for conflict management.
