Behind the obnoxious stereotypes created by animal eaters, vegans are on track to save the world. Within recent years, the amount of vegans in the world has skyrocketed. As social media gains more ground, the advertising of aesthetically pleasing foods reach more people, specifically the youth. The reasons why vegans are growing by large number is due to the numerous health benefits, cost efficient way of living, and its benefits to the environment leaving a smaller footprint. Much of the deforestation occurring worldwide is a result of raising animals, killing those animals, and producing feed for those animals. The hidden cause of the sudden rise of vegans is certain individuals have taken note to globally warming. Unconsciously the world is turning to an animal based diet to save the planet. Elizabeth Crawford suggested, “Vegan is going mainstream, data suggests.” Veganism is on the raise because people want to help better the environment for the benefit of future generations. One main counterargument of veganism is, are vegans getting enough protein; as a result, should the whole world consider going vegan. Numerous health studies show, “No longer is veganism the diet for the hippies and health nuts; according to statistics, it’s now just a smart way to live that can help decrease our ecological footprint.” (therawfoodworld.com).
