Reasons we test products on animals There are many different reasons that scientist and manufacturers choose to test their products or experiments on animals. Animals are tested because many people think it would be inhumane to test on humans so they decided that animals would be the next best thing. Products are also tested on animals so they can be sure that the product is not harmful to humans, animals, and also the environment. So they basically make sure a product is safe to protect animals by harming animals Another reason that products are tested is so that companies do not send out a product into the public that is har... ... middle of paper ... ...to animal testing can sometimes be more expensive but it can sometimes be cheaper. Animal testing has been the primary source of testing for diseases, as well as for finding treatments for many years. Often times, these animals are given different medications in various doses without a thought that they are living, breathing creatures just like humans. The end result is usually a small break in medicine and a large number of innocent animals losing their lives. Animal experimentation should not be allowed because the way animals are treated is inhumane, the experiments are wasteful and unreliable, and there are other alternatives that do not harm animals. Before an animal is tested on, the company needs to have the money for the experiment.
Although scientists have resources they could use to lower the pain each animal endures and even alternatives of their test subjects, millions of innocent creatures are still suffering. The fact that animals are still used when animal experimentation is avoidable and not necessary makes animal testing unethical. According to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (2013) over one hundred million animals suffer and sometimes die from experiments to test chemicals, drugs, foods, and cosmetics (para 3). Although it is good that the companies are concerned that their products do not harm consumers, the law does not require most of these tests animals endure. Furthermore, these tests do not have accurate results, so the animals may suffer but the product is still sold to the people.

Testing on animals causes castigation of wounds, burns and other lacerations to develop a study for healing ("About Animal Testing”). According to Kathy Guillermo, "There aren't many laws that protect animals in labs and the few that there are, are routinely violated at facilities across the country. Most labs have some degree of abuse and neglect” (Lee Bowman 2011). Because animals are consistently begin tested on, they have become psychologically distressed. Unfortunately, researchers in laboratories do not fully comprehend the end results for animals that never receive a long term break from the endless research and analysis.
The viewpoints between Jane Goodall and Dario Ringach are different when it comes to animal testing, but they’re after the same goal: caring for the animals and wanting to look for cures and treatments. Dr. Jane Goodall, a primatologist and ethologist, believes that animal testing is "morally, and ethically unacceptable". In her article, "So Much Animal Pain, So Little Human Gain", she states that animal testing does not benefit for humans and how much the animal suffer in the experiment. Using animal in research can't always predict the results for humans. There are some cases that even though the experiment succeeded, it wasn't safe for humans.
Animal testing needs to be eliminated for a number of reasons. Most experiments, which involve animals, are flawed and never used on humans, wasting the lives of those animals. Animal testing, which violates animal’s rights, is expensive, unreliable, and unsafe. It is important to know the horrific facts about animal testing as well as the alternative methods; therefore, humanity can better the economy, and not only human lives but also animals lives. The term “animal testing” refers to experimentations on living animals for the purpose of research into biology and illnesses, assessing effectiveness of new medicinal products, and testing the human health and environmental safety of consumer and industry products such as cosmetics, ... ... middle of paper ... ...s well as researchers should proceed in creating a law that protects animals from animal cruelty during experimentation.

Groups like PETA have made it a trend to stop the torture of animals. I also think that today’s society has become addicted to testing against animals to find the answer to all of the problems. It has become a convenience to use animals as the alternative. I believe that we should respect animal’s life like we respect others.
