In today’s world, many people in society believe that everything is modernized and things are not as they once were because of new ideas and concepts being introduced. However, what one may fail to realize is that many different religions around the world carry on the same customs and traditions as they did hundreds of years ago. While the idea of evolution is true and is happening to numerous things everywhere, religions are taken very seriously to some and there are no intentions of changing or modernizing their belief or what occurs within the religion. Muslims, whose population make up the second largest religion in the world, are examples of the vast majority within the religion who still take everything very seriously. The traditions are still carried on today by many as the once were years ago. Whereas in the Jewish faith, more than half of the religion take a modern approach on their customs and lifestyle. Both religions are based on the belief in one God and respect sacred books that record God’s teachings. Both command followers to act with justice and are encouraged to show compassion for the weak and poor. The two religions also can be modernized but are mainly kept traditional and sacred. With the world constantly changing it becomes very hard for a follower to maintain their religion’s original concepts and beliefs. However if one truly has a firm belief and full confidence in these same traditions they will continue to educate and pass it down from generation to generation. By doing so, these rituals and beliefs that occurred many years ago will still occur many years from now. All religions, no matter how big or small, have the same purpose – which is believing in something, however, it is what each religion believes and how they execute their beliefs that make each religion
