Excellence in a learning environment can only be achieved by acquiring and maintaining several aspects of a person’s identity, those being: scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Throughout my high school career I have consistently demonstrated these characteristics, having moved three times during my high-school experience, going through one virtual school, and two physical schools, it has been a challenge to be a part of teams and groups; yet I have thrived in the programs I have been able to join, showing that I have the potential for leadership, As well as having a sense of scholarship, service and character.
The key aspect of scholarship in the learning environment is the root of my goals in life and by developing a unique and accomplished resume by the end of my high school career; I hope to apply myself through to university. The number, difficulty and success of classes an applicant takes in high-school are extremely evident in the selection process for any university. I have tried to mold the courses I take during my high-school career into the perfect resume for my future education, with varying amounts of accomplishment. For my first two years of high-school the majority of classes I took were at the Honors Level, each providing the rigor I needed to test my determination and responsibility. I would have continued this period of advanced classwork, yet a move overseas has prevented me from taking the AP level courses I desired during this, my junior year. Next year being the last year of my standard education in high-school, I have pushed myself even further, challenging myself through four Advanced Placement courses, yet I am confident with my scholarship and integrity I will be able to prevail against all o...

All together through my advanced enthusiasm of scholarship, my developed character, my exceptional leadership and my desire to help others through service I hope that I have the skills necessary to strive toward my goals in life and succeed in the rest of my education. I want to be in NHS, because I believe it to be the place to strengthen my scholarship, better my character, become a leader, and be able to help even more people then I already do. I desire to be a part of such a fantastic group such as Kinnick’s NHS program, a group that is bigger than myself, one that will give me a new insight into ideas I had never thought of before. I believe I belong in NHS not only because of the traits that make me a person, but because of the traits that make me a good team worker, an adequate leader, and a successful student.
