Facebook is a socializing website that was created in February 2004, founded by Mark Zuckerburg and co-founded by Dustin Moskovitz, Eduardo Saverin, and Chris Hughes while studying at Harvard University. Facebook was originally only open to other fellow Harvard students, it increased slowly to other Ivy League schools, then rapidly made its way to all colleges across the Unites States, and today the worldwide socializing network is open up to anyone over the age of 13 years old. This company expanded rapidly due to its clever approach allowing people to keep in contact with one another over the internet. People are now easily connected to everyone over the world with just a click of a button. Facebook makes it very simple for people to find one another due to the search bar, thousands of different networks, and the “people you may know” bar. This company has expanded at a rapid rate over the past few years and now has over 900 million active users. With this very new and modern socializing website there are many positives, negatives, and questions about the future of the growing company Facebook.

There are many positive features that this socializing network holds. Facebook’s greatest feature is the aspect that people are able to connect to old classmates from college and even high school. This feature allows everyone who is a member to “friend” that person and catch up and reconnect to old friends. Being able to see how old friends are doing, seeing pictures and talking to them over the “Facebook Chat” is an amazing way to continue to stay friends with a person you were once close to. ... Facebook has completely changed the way our society is able to interact and connect with people around the world. The capabilities and the advances that Facebook has to offer have helped the world to evolve into the technology and internet savvy environment that we have learned to be accustomed to. Even though Facebook has so many positive sides, a person can never forget that possibilities of the negatives aspects of Facebook are real and factual. Facebook is changing every day with new features, 15,000 people joining daily and new applications that people can use to help increase their social network. With Facebook evolving slowing every day to become more user and business friendly the future of Facebook is unknown right now but the only thing society does know is that the next steps that the creators of Facebook will take will undoubtedly be world changing.
