Wars are tragic but beneficial; the Cold War was very beneficial because a plethora of technological advancements evolved from it, improving the economy, health, weapons, and warfare. The Cold War promoted an arms race between the Eastern Bloc and powers in the Western Bloc. The arms race created an environment where the technological advancements were the leading cause of competition between countries. Its widely believed that the Cold War was a negative event but the positive side of the Cold War is that technological advancements came from it changing history, improving the economy, creating new jobs and weapons, and also improving health.

The Radar and Sonar were both a big part of the technology that was used during the Cold War. The radar was used to detect distant objects, most importantly aircraft and ships. The radar would give a great advantage to people as the enemy would be detected without even knowing it. Enemies improved their technology to detect and disrupt radars by creating radar jammers and radar detectors. The radar jammers would be used to interrupt the waves coming out of the radar, therefore, the radar will not be able to get signals that the enemies are near. The greatest advantage to using the radar is that the enemies will lose the element of surprise. By using radar detectors, the enemies could learn more about the radars being used, this could help enemies learn where the opponents’ radars are positioned, and it would make it easier to bypass these radars.
