As stated above, in some cases, the course of one’s life can be altered in a matter of moments. With this in mind, the United States is known as the land of an immigrant's dream because a variety of them come to the United States seeking for a better life, in the land of opportunity. In fact, the United States is made by millions of immigrants, who have helped increase the economic growth by building successful businesses. For many years, the United States opened its doors to welcome those seeking freedom, to practice their religion freely, to escape poverty or oppression, to escape conflict or violence, and to make better lives for themselves and their children. For this reason, this concept for a better life can be seen in the life of how my parents came here to the United States from Mexico. As a matter of fact, in the event, like being stopped by police because of a faulty tail light or being caught by using a fake social security, can have disastrous consequences, especially if you’re living in this country illegally, which is what most immigrants fear in today's world. It’s important to realize that, one day, you’re living the American dream; the next, you’re being deported. Unfortunately, there is a lot of problems around immigration into the United States as we speak today, since immigration orders and laws, fear, doubt and uncertainty have been struck into the hearts of all immigrants. As a result, they decided to risk their lives and try once again, but before trying to cross the border, first they had to find a guide person that new the route to cross the border. As soon as, four hours passed by, they finally found the guide person that would help them cross the border. With this in mind, around 6:00 p.m. they started to walk once again, but this time it wasn’t any strange mountain, it was a rainforest that made it inevitable to see, which made this horrible trip of escapation for a better life, seem an impossible to cross the border. Hours went by of walking and nothing seem to change throughout the trees surrounding them, but as they continued walking the guiding person told them and the other illegal immigrants, “Es mejor que no esperemos hasta las diez de la noche para que la inmigración tendrá menos posibilidades de capturarlos(It’s best if we wait until 10 p.m. when it it super dark so the immigration would have a less chance to capture us).” An hour later, the guide person decided to start to walk in a river, but first they had to to take off their socks and just have their shoes on.
