Mass shootings and gun violence occur daily in the U.S. Gun control is a set of laws that regulate, and manufacture the use of firearms by civilians. Many countries have very strict gun laws, for example, Australia, Iran, and Canada. These countries have a significantly low crime rate along with minimal mass shootings. In the United States alone there are nearly 15,000 murders per year, and about 50% of the occur from the use of a firearm. The Gun Control topic is a very split topic, with spiking a lot of arguments from all the shootings happening recently. The Washington Post makes a very eye opening point “ if a criminal needs a gun, they are going to get it off the street, illegally. Compared to a regular law abiding citizen who will follow the whole process and get it legally.” Many of the gun control advocates are saying to ban guns altogether, yes, that would be helpful and minimize the amount of gun violence we have, but there are so many guns in the United States, it would be close to impossible. I completely agree with Governor Rick Scott and Charlie Crist, the second amendment is my right to bears arms, whether it 's for recreational use or for protection, I have the constitutional right to have a weapon. I feel safer knowing there is a gun in my house, these days, criminals have no fear breaking into a house, but as soon as there is a gun involved it puts their life at risk. Recently, a boy was shot in his living room in the middle of the night. He heard a noise and went into the living room and there he saw a burglar in his house and unfortunately dalton was shot and killed, imagine if Dalton had a gun on hand, I believe the situation might have went over a little different.
