Recommended: Need and importance of human evolution

All around the world people believe in a version of a creation story. They are placed into two groups Creationism and Evolutionism. Some people believe the universe was created (creationists) by an intelligent being of some sort, and then there are those that believe the universe created itself (evolutionists). The Creation Story is a story of hope and faith. Some people want to feel that after death there is something else. The thought of once you die that it is a very sad reality that some people can’t and won’t except. People who believe in The Creation Story puts everything into faith and trust that the teaching of the bible are true. The main purpose of Genesis 1:1-23, is to let people know how the universe and everything in it was created. …show more content…

Darwin stated, “By the theory of natural selection, all living species have been connected with the parent-species of each genus, by differences not greater than we see between the natural and domestic varieties of the same species at the present day.” Thus in the past “the number of intermediate and transitional links, between all living and extinct species, must have been inconceivably great.” If there was any truth to Natural Selection in humans Eskimos would have developed fur to keep warm and combat the cold environment they live in. Also if Natural Selection was true humans that live in the tropics would have silver, reflective skin to help them keep cool. …show more content…

Faith is why we should believe in Creation and Evolution. The Bible states several times that God created different categories of life each. The Bible also states that plant and animal categories didn’t evolve from any other categories in ages past. No one can give you a scientific reason saying that “The Creation Story” is false because none of us were there. The people that believe have faith that it really happened. You have to have faith that with the theories of how the earth came about. There is no evidence that evolution has occurred because no transitional forms exist in fossils, scientists cannot prove with fossils that fish evolved into amphibians or that amphibians evolved into reptiles, or that reptiles evolved into birds and mammals.The problem with all evolutionary theories is where matter came from so there is one sensible theory to believe in and that is there is an almighty

Obviously history exists, but like the human ability to conceive of the future, history seems to be a rare phenomenon tied with our ability for language and the telling of stories. Creation myths in particular define how the Earth itself was created, along with the universe, heavens, hell, people, and creatures that exist today. Genesis of Christian mythology, for instance, tells the story of how the single deity God spoke and formed everything from day and night to man and woman. Various African creation myths, such as with the Yoruba, explain the creation of the Earth through at least a couple gods working together and all life sprouting from a seed. But all share a common themes, such as a form of chaos or nothingness before life is created. Joseph Campbell notes that “... the idea of an absolute ontological distinction between God and man – or between gods and men, divinity and nature - first became an important social and psychological force in the near East, specifically Akkad, in the period of the first Semetic Kings, c. 2500 B.C.,” showing another similar trait – a god or set of gods exists to create in each story (626). Joseph Campbell makes a comparison of how both Genesis and the Book of the Dead of Egypt share the same idea of their bodies belonging to their god in some way, or being reabsorbed into them at death (630-631). Others, like the Japanese and Iroquois creation myths, claim the Earth was once covered entirely of water before land was formed. Adam and Eve of Genesis and Izanagi and sister Izanami of Shintoism provide examples of myths that share both a passive and active pair of people who eventually create the Earth's population. In any case, certain popular creation myths, some closely tied to prominent religions, share more common characteristics than others. An entire sub-study, called comparative mythology, gives insight into this subject.
