When it comes to the internship the most challenging part of the job is convincing people to buy from you. You have to overcome a lot of obstacles to get the person to do business with you. It can take a lot of work especially when it comes to creating the proposals to make the numbers work so that you are coming in at a price that they will agree to. We use Sherpa to create our deals and it can take a lot of finesses and creativity to get them to work. One of the main reasons it is hard is if we buy out the current contract that they are in. It makes it so we basically have to role buyout into their new contract. This can be difficult because we have to come in cheaper than their current price or they won’t switch to us but we also have to account for the costs of buying out their contract.
Another challenging aspect of the position is keeping up with the quotas that we are all responsible for meeting. For each month were are responsible for bringing in a certain amount of money and it can be difficult at times to reach that goal. As it gets closer to the end of the month it can become very stressful. Dean is understanding if you don’t hit your goal but it is something that he expects to be done more often than not.

When looking at the rest of my college career I only have 6 months left but it is still plenty of time to use what I have learned. The main way it will influence my college career is that I will be able to take what I have learned at my job and take it into the class room. I feel as though at UCCS I have learned a lot of the conceptual knowledge of business and marketing but now I have more of the actual experience. This will allow me to take that real world experience into the class room and apply it with the conceptual knowledge I have
