Abortion, what is abortion? Is it the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, usually performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. However, some abortions are considered late term abortions because they are performed after the 28th week of pregnancy, these are called partial birth abortions. There are many reasons why women have abortions. Pro-choice and pro-lifers argue over the issues and I’m sure each person’s stance is believed to be valid. However, I feel very strongly against the killing of the innocence. In my opinion, and many more like me, we believe that abortion is morally and ethically wrong. The answer is NO! There should never be any reason to abort the life of a human being. I actually can understand what goes on in a woman’s mind when they discover an unwanted pregnancy. A little over a year ago my daughter was raped and became pregnant. She was enrolled at LSU and 2 weeks before she was moving into the dorms she found out she was pregnant. We were devastated. I’m embarrassed to say, I had a fleeting moment when all I wanted to happen was to make the baby go away. After all, I was afraid that her life was going to be ruined. So many questions flew by. What was going to happen with college, how was she going to handle the emotions of dealing with the rape and stress of raising a baby without a father, and many more? After the whirlwind of fear and emotions settled she made the decision to keep her baby with the support of her father and me. Yes, sometimes it is a struggle but, it’s a decision that will never be regretted. He is our world and could not imagine life without
