Abortion has not only been a social controversy but an important argument that has been brought had been because it violates certain religious beliefs. In the Christian belief being able to give life is the most precious gift that can ever be given, that it should be sacred and that life should not be taken for granted. In the Bible it quotes “Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. Young teenagers who are children themselves and are not capable of raising a child there selves, in the economy that we are growing in today, teens will be less likely to go to college and get a higher paying job. “Teen abortion and birth are not only public health issues, but also serious social issues because 77% of teenage mothers will ultimately need assistance from the social welfare system within 5 years. (Lee- Joy)” More then half of the teenagers that does get pregnant have landed on welfare and statics have shown that once a teenager has conceived once she will give birth to another child and so the cycle goes. In countries like China monitoring the amount of children that is allowed in each family, where only two children are allowed and if the mother has more then two children then she is forced to get an abortion, in the States women have taken the idea that having so many abortions is acceptable when women in China are forced by law to comply wishing that they could have more then one child. “For families who observe the One Child Policy, there are rewards: higher wages, better schooling and employment, and preferential treatment in obtaining governmental assistance and loans. For families who violate the One Child Policy, there are sanctions: fines, employment termination, and difficulty in obtaining governmental assistance. (Geography Article) ” In the States no such policy exists, when Pro Choice advocates have argued that having an abortion should be with in a women’s right there focus can also be setting into view that some women across the globe does not even have the option to think of having an abortion.
