“Abortion is the ending of pregnancy by removing a fetus or embryo before it can survive outside the uterus.” (Kulczycki 2) When allowed by local laws, abortion in the developed world is one of the safest procedures in medicine, and different governments have different limits on how late in pregnancy abortion is allowed. Around 44 million abortions occur each year in the world, with less than 50 percent done unsafely. As of 2015, four fifths of the world’s women had access to legal abortions with different kind of reasons. In the United States, pro-life groups in favor of greater legal restrictions on abortion, or even the complete prohibition of abortion. They hold the view that a human fetus is a human being with the right to live, so they think abortion is very similar to murder. In opposite site, pro-choice groups believe that women have rights to choose what they want, especially the choice on whether or not to have this child.
