If she is unhealthy, she may not be able to produce a healthy baby. If this is the case, she should have the option to abort. Abortion must remain an option for women because there many women in the United states not financially, emotionally, or physically ready to have a baby. Why should the government force women to bring children into the world? Millions of unintended pregnancies in the United States each year end in abortion.
The Supreme Court has made a law that gives the woman the right to choose abortion if needed. If a government sponsored healthcare plan does not follow this law and does not cover the abortion, then the woman herself will be penalized if she is low income. (Susan Dudley Ph.D.) In many cases, women can not afford the abortion but will sacrifice many things and still get one. It is not just an economic problem but can also be a social problem in many cases. There has been some cases of women who can not afford the abortion to try and induce it themselves then seek emergency medical help soon after to then have surgery to fully abort the fetus.
For instance, women make a decision of abortion “that they cannot raise a child at the moment” (.......). Women who simply don’t have the time or money to raise a child often spares the child’s life so they can continue their life without the unwanted struggle of a child. Women who are raped and become pregnant did not get the freedom of choice, so they feel entitled of the choice to have the baby or
This is because they maybe think that they are too young and not mature enough to raise a child at the moment. The woman may also be afraid of future problems in the relationship and wants to avoid single parenting. Most woman wait until they are in a supportive relationship with their partner so that the child has both parents. Families also play a major role in a young woman’s decision for the abortion. The young woman may feel pressured into having it done, most likely from her father.
From the time they are born to the time they die, a woman will never truly be able to do what she wants to do with her body because of social critique, pear pressure or laws that out ban what they can do. Such as the abortion law. Works Cited • Abortion & common sense / Ruth Dixon-Mueller, Paul K.B. Dagg. • Young, poor, and pregnant: the psychology of teenage motherhood / Judith S. Musick.
They have some alternatives: (1) have the child and raise it (2) have the child, then give it up for adoption (3) get an abortion. Sadly, many women choose alternative three, unaware of what they’re getting themselves into. Abortion is very cruel to the baby and even harms the mother. It is murder! There are many different procedures for abortions, all gruesome and pain inflicting on the baby. Suction Aspiration (vacuum curettage) makes up for 98% of first trimester abortions.
Women who reported in this concluded in the idea that they chose abortion becsue they felt that a child would interfere with their future success and that they don’t want to waste their youth on their mistakes. Others want to give their baby a better life and they know that the baby will only be living in misery if they kept the baby. Immaturity and lack of independence is another factor for abortion, younger women fall in this category because they feel that they have not yet lived life to the fullest and that having a baby would be a drastic thing that could affect their
If the mother aborts the embryo at a very early stage it’s not even recognizable as human and that’s why potential life is just that, potential. My personal belief is that each woman has the right to decide whether she wants to abort an unwanted pregnancy. Remember the termination of the pregnancy might have to do with the health of the mother herself, maybe the mother is unable to attend to the child’s needs after its born, resulting in child abuse and mental disease. In these situations abortion is a must in my opinion. Most abortions occur because contraception fails, because of a rape or because of a serious medical condition of the mother, which could lead to her death.
Some chose to get abortions because they find out that there is a medical problem wrong with the baby causing it to not have a regular life. Pregnancies on average last about 40 weeks. Nearly 90% of abortions are done in the first trimester of a pregnancy, which is about the first 13 weeks. In the Supreme Court case Roe vs. Wade they ruled that a woman could be allowed to have an abortion within her first two trimesters of a pregnancy. (Update: Abortion) In the poem the speaker imagines the lives that her unborn children could have possibly had.
At the end of the eighth week the child is known as a fetus with bodily functions and structures. By ten weeks the child is making movements (Schwarzwalder). So, as you can see, abortion is indeed ending a chil... ... middle of paper ... ...mothers fault that she and/or her partner did not take the appropriate actions to prevent the pregnancy if they did not want a child or were not ready in the first place. Abortion really isn’t the right thing to do in any situation unless the women’s life is in danger. There are many things you can do to avoid having an abortion and avoid getting pregnant at an unwanted time.
