‘’Incomplete Students’’
‘’Most kids don’t put schools first on their list unless they perceive something is at stake. They’d rather be sailing’’. These words of Mary Sherry describes how young students do not take much importance to the bad grades they could obtain based on the work done in the school semester. They care more in sailing into their world that is socializing on the internet, being on the cell phone most of the time as well with the television .
Parents of students and teacher s should be aware of the education that young students are learning and advise the young students to study and read more rather than play video games or being in the cell phone.
In this paper we are going to explore the difficulties that our

Sherry used the rhetorical strategy of emotional appeal of pathos when she talks about her son’s problems in school, transferring a sense of emotion to the reader. Also, Carl Singleton in his article,
‘’what our education system needs is more F’s’’ talks about how the grading system is decreasing in many ways and how teachers d o not fail students when they deserved to fail. Most students do not care about what they are going to get as a final grade in these days but when the days of graduation are coming is when they start to worry about work hard on future assignments, tests and even in the past due assignments. I would like to state that if we want to have a better country, first we have to put education as the main problem of the country and start working on students in their education since they start studying elementary school. We have to advise parents to motivate their children and protest to the government to give the money necessary for public schools because in that way we can promise and protest equality of education for all the students in the country of the United States of
The name of this essay is “In Praise of the F Word” by Mary Sherry. It’s about how the education system has failed. How it just pushes students through to graduation, without them actually learning the material. This is an argumentative essay. The purpose is for Mary to explain to her audience; of teachers, parents, and students, that “We must review the threat of flunking and see it as it really is- a positive teaching tool” (560). The context of this essay is “Tens of thousands of eighteen-year-olds will graduate this year and be handed meaningless diplomas” (559).This essay is a successful argumentative essay Because of her appeal to reason threw the examples form her sons’ story, her students’ stories, and how the education system fails in general.
Failing is not an option for many people this means that they will do anything they can to get good grades and keep them there. For many people getting by is just fine and some just don’t care at all, normally collage is where people get weeded out. During this time in life most adults know the meaning of failing and what consequences it will have, number one being the loss of money for the class that must be taken a second time. However sometimes one might fail due to distractions or problems

Students spend four years of their lives attending high school. Going through high school is mandatory as it prepares them for college and strength to face “the real world.” Having part-time jobs has become the phenomenon among high school students and many students follow this trend as well. Moreover, there are some pros and cons attached with it. Though it may seem like working throughout high school is a bad idea, it could better prepare students for “the real world.” Although some people believe that the primary duty of a student is studying, I am of the opposite position. I strongly support the idea that high school students should work throughout high school. This is because they can earn money, become responsible and get experience.

Our education system is failing and in his essay “What Our Education System Needs Is More F’s” Carl Singleton writes that nothing else will right the ship or fix this issue except for his proposed solution which is to simply fail more students. As a matter of fact “by the dozens, hundreds, thousands, even millions” (Singleton 1) is how he describes the failing grades should be distributed. He claims that illegitimately passing students has existed for the past two decades and even implies that it stems further back than that with many teachers in the school system today “who never should have been certified in the first place.”(Singleton 1).
...ple can work together, this issue can be fixed overtime. Education should help solve social issues in the world today, not to cause more of them.
The public high schools began a grading system as a way of telling an individual how they were performing. There was no interest by the public in reporting the school’s progress at teaching. Teachers, in an effort to recognize outstanding performers, looked for a way of rewarding hard-working students for their efforts The grading structure changed from superior and excellent to A’s and B’s. This placed much of the burden of recognizing academic talent on the high schools.
It is very common that many high school students hold part time jobs while going to school. When these teens work, they are able to learn and experience life lessons from ethical and moral work. Knowing that school is aways and should be a priority, students should work while in high school because working helps students be more responsible with their lives, help them practice time managment, and also helps students see and experience the real world.
By nature, most students are brought up in an academic environment motivated to get A’s and B’s on their report cards. Those grades sometimes don’t thoroughly report how much a student has learned or gained knowledge in each topic. Some instructors throw in factors totally unrelated to learning, when the main objective of academic institutions is to learn. In order to clearly demonstrate how much a student has learned in the classroom, schools should change their current grading system and teach students how to learn.
“What makes a child gifted and talented may not always be good grades in school, but a different way of looking at the world and learning.” That’s what the senior United States Senator from Iowa Chuck Grassley once said. When students get a “F” on their exam, that does not necessary means they are stupid, or they do not know the material. It could only mean they have a different way of learning, or a different way of explaining the material which the teacher is not aware of. There are different ways of learning that students have, and there are different ways they apply their knowledge into real life. Therefore, grades are not the best way to judge the students’ standing in their classes, nor is it the best way to judge their learning process. In addition,
Nowadays in the era of globalization, students are encouraged to have work part-time that will create them to become more experienced in their future, teach them to become more independent and mature in real life. Although the students have enough money to pay their fees and able to accommodate the necessities of life but we totally agree that the working part-time should be encouraged because work part-time can give more benefits to students. According to King and Bannon (2002, p. 2), more than 50 percent of full-time students have jobs and “nearly 46% of all full-time employed students work 25 hours or more.” As students work more, they have less time to become engaged in campus life both inside and outside the classroom. Many students love to have part-time jobs. Their parents approve it easily as they are said to gain experience from working. However, having a job is a big responsibility for a student. Before, teenagers at their age were working to help their family because of poverty. Nevertheless, they were actually eager to study and learn at school for their future. It was not the same as the students nowadays where they are more likely competing to each other to have a job. Most of the students are working part-time jobs and some have the intention to work. When we are in any fast food restaurant, supermarket or shop, there are must be school students who are working. Besides, students can gain a lot of experiences, students should be encouraged to work part-time because they can learn new skills and learn how to manage their financial properly.
As you can see the future for the education world is bright. There are many developments to make education more efficient, simpler, and equal for all from
