In the 21st century there are many problems being faced that until now had never been a problem. Access to the internet and all information imaginable has brought the world so much closer together, however having all this information readily available has given students a quick fix to solve any problems they may encounter, such as not being able to get assignments complete. In recent years there has been a massive increase in plagiarism accusations across the English speaking world, especially in students whose native language is something other than English. When a student has been up all night, like referenced by Bradshaw, in a moment of panic it may be easier to copy a sentence verbatim instead of worrying about how to properly reword it. With thousands upon thousands of sources available at the click of a finger it’s not unreasonable for one to think that they would be able to get away with it. However, as pointed out by Brendan O’Malley, the biggest issue with the internet is that it is now easier than ever for someone to hand in an assignment that they’ve never even seen. Paper mills, as they are known, are becoming an epidemic with international students.Robert Clarke , from Birmingham University as stated that people from countries such as India and Pakistan are creating online personas claiming that they have credentials from universities in the United Kingdom. Because of the amount of stress these students are facing they believe that this is an easy way out of the assignment at hand, and believing they won’t ever get caught. It is stunts like these, however, that according to O’Malley, are tarnishing the reputation of certain post secondary institutions. Not only are services of these cheating many students out of a proper education, but also gives institutions a reputation of lower level thinking when these statistics get out, which rarely, if ever give reason or cause for the actions at hand and when in reality these schools are some of the most prestigious in the
