This part of the book has enhanced my understanding of personal choice. It has given a name to what I have understood for a very long time. I personally consider myself a transition person in many ways. One particular way has to do with a very close relative to me. He was addicted to very hard drugs, went to rehab many times, and after many hard years of dealing with his addiction he finally became clean. He has been clean for a very long time now and I could not be more proud of him. I am aware that addiction can be genetic and I am more susceptible to becoming addicted to drugs than others might be. Personally, I am able to accomplish many things with the advice given by Covey. For instance, I now know that every action I do is my choice. I am not forced to do anything; and as I have mentioned many times throughout this reflection, it is an extremely liberating feeling. I also learned how to deepen any relationship through time and patience. Within my career, I learned how effective it is for a manager to respect their employees. One way of doing this includes the type of delegation. On page 181 and 182, Covey explains how gofer delegation (go for this, do this, do that) does not produce loyal, confident customers. They will not take initiative because they are always waiting for the manager to tell them what to do. On the other hand, stewardship delegation is one that focuses on results instead of methods. It takes more time in the beginning, but it is worth it. It produces employees who are responsible for the decisions they make on their own. It makes them feel important. I know, as I experience more things in my career, I will want to practice stewardship delegation. It gives the employee a feeling of need and desire, and that is what will motivate them to
