This speech is the Presidential debate which took place in New York in the University of Hofstra on September 26th 2016. In this speech I will be analyzing Hilary Clinton.
Delivery
a. Verbal Language i. Clinton was very considerate of her audience. ii. The speech was very impactful because it made me see a lot of the problems that the countries has, if I would not of seen the debate I would of been oblivious to many of these pending issues. iii. Her took of voice was very consistent at first and as the speech progressed it seemed as though it would rise at times. iv. She rarely used fillers,although I did notice she used the filler uh when answering question,it was brief however. …show more content…

The rate of her voice kept my interest because depending on the question she was answering her voiced seemed to rise and the emotion through her voice was clearly depicted
b. Nonverbal i. Hilary often times made eye contact but maintained it briefly. She seemed to scan the room often. ii. She stood still, but she used her right hand often to show body movement iii. She made gestures, she would lift her eyebrows when she seemed upset and used her hands to show the passion she felt when speaking about an issue. Her gestures seemed natural. v. Hilary did not seem to look at her notes,she did however on several occasions look down at the desk. It was difficult to tell because went she would look down it was a glance. iv. Hilary’s had a very straight posture although she would move a little. She seemed very poised when speaking. She also seemed confident and comfortable when addressing the questions she was being asked . The confidence she showed helped build a relationship with the audience.
2. Content a) The purpose of this speech was to understand how the potential presidents would go about in regards to certain issues and their policies. Millions of Americans watched the debate to help them understand,which candidate would be the best fit president for the …show more content…

d) Her attention getter was how America will invest for a better future. Her attention getter did intrigue me and it made me wonder how America could invested in the future e) The only main point that I got from this speech was how she would improve the American economy with her proposals. f) Clinton had many strong examples, I found the proposal of equal pay for women to be one of them because many women have fought this issue numerous amounts of times,yet some companies fail to acknowledge the problem. Another example that was very powerful was the criminal justice system and how communities and law enforcement need to trust and respect each other. This is done to ensure that there is security in law enforcement again and this will be done through proper training and the use of force only when needed. g) Clinton’s wording was very clear and effective and her ideas were well stated. Her speech was very easy to follow. h) Her conclusion was clear.Her wrap was to make sure to tell everyone to vote because it is our future that we are voting
