A college degree is important for the workforce today. It opens doors that otherwise would not be opened. For example criminal justice opens opportunities for forensic evidence, prosecution, and personal law firms. Without a degree jobs opportunities are limited and possibly pay is lower. To make ends meet a person would have to work two jobs depending on the amount of pay per hour. Though that might not be true depending on the job, and the requirements to obtain the job. First of all a degree such as an associates will give a person two years of college education. Which is said that a higher level of education the higher the salary rate. An example would be an associate degree from Cape Cod Community College gives the opportunity to pursue a career in the field of study, such as criminal justice. A college degree opens up more positions available depending on field of study it also allows for better promotions in the job.
