The Power of Tuesday
The word "Tuesday" originates from the name of the God of war, sky, and courage known as Tiw who was one of the Anglo-Saxon Gods. There are many different translations of his name, which are Tiwaz, Tyr, Ziu, or Tir (The Nordic Story, p.1). The Germanic translation of Tuesday was Tiwes-daeg or the day of Tiw (Tiwesdaeg, p.1). Tiw was one of the most powerful, original, and oldest gods known to the Anglo-Saxons and Germanic people. Tuesday to us today is the second day of the week. People also celebrate Mardi Gras, which is known as Fat Tuesday in New Orleans. There they celebrate by having a big feast.
Tiw was one of the most powerful gods during the Germanic period but was eventually overthrown by other gods. Even though he was overthrown, he was still a strong symbol to the people. When the people went to war, they had a symbol of him stamped on their weapons representing his strong role as the god of war (Tiw, p.1).
During the Roman period, Tuesday was known as "dies Martis" or the day of Mars (Tiw, p.1). There is also a story about how Tiw (in the Roman times known as Tyr) loses his hand to Fenris the wolf that many of the gods fear (The Nordic story, p.2). The story says that the gods try to tie up Fenris so that he can not hurt anyone, but they had to trick him with a string specially made. They finally get Fenris to allow them to tie him up by betting to see how strong he is. One of them has to put his hand in Fenris's mouth so that he would think they are not tricking him. Since most of the gods fear Fenris, the only god brave enough to put his hand in his mouth is Tyr.

...ssion, political oppression, social oppression, etc., Friday is a symbol of those left without power of expression and, therefore, without an audience. Language, written or spoken, is a form of power and without it one is helpless in the face of society.
My decision to become a physician assistant (PA) was made earlier in my life as I wanted to graduate high school with an established career path. Suffering from frequent sinus infections in 2006, I often landed myself in the Emergency Departments Fast Track, which to my surprise was managed by PAs. At that time, PA was a newly evolving medical career that everyone around me was interested in. What attracted me was that it allowed students to study medicine in a flexible approach, where they were able to easily alternate specialties throughout their career. One could graduate PA school practicing general medicine, but later go on to study a different specialty. This enabled a PA to practice within many fields of medicine, allowing them to expand their knowledge and experiences every time. In order to explore the field further, I began volunteering at my local hospital in the Surgery Recovery Unit. It was here where I had my first-hand experience with PAs, as I was able to observe them at work
I am interested in pursuing the Physician Assistant (PA) degree because of my experiences both within the medical field and as a patient. These experiences have led me to believe that a team approach to patient-centered medicine provides the best and most comprehensive care possible. Further, the PA profession offers me the opportunity to continue my lifelong passion of helping others, giving back to my community, and provides me with further opportunities to teach.

There’s bullying in the word, and sometimes we are the one who is being bullied. People have their own way to solve the problem, so not all people solve the problem like June T. does. And everybody have their own way of thinking. Sometimes solving a bully problem is hard, and sometimes is easy. Some people might not do anything (not do anything is like not telling someone, not fighting back), but sometimes do something is the right thing to do. In this story “Tuesday of the Other June”, by Norma Fox Mazer, it is about June T. bullied by another person named June M.. She (June T.) learned that sometimes you need to stand up for yourself. Need to fight back, not just standing there being bullied and not telling anyone or do anything.

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy (Holy)." The word Sabbath is derived from the Hebrew word meaning to rest. On the first day, God created the heavens and the earth. Each day, something new was created which culminated with the sixth day when he created all creatures that live on dry land: this includes the creation of man. Afterwards, God declared his work to be good and decided to rest on the seventh day. This seventh day, known as the Sabbath Day, represents God's day of rest. Everyone has a favorite day, my favorite day happens to be at the end of the week. Monday to Saturday I work to what seem to be never ending shifts and go to school. Working all day just go to school at night. The week consist of hard work and hours of studying. When Sunday comes along all of that changes. Sundays are my favorite day of the week. Early in the morning I wake up cold, feeling my partners warm body across the bed. I snuggle up to him for warmth. The movement of my body awakens him. He smiles, he has such a wonderful smile that seems to be brighter then the sun to me. Just like any normal teenage boy would do early in the morning he falls back to sleep. I lay snuggled up to him, hearing every breath he takes, feeling every time his chest rises. I lay on the side of him, smiling ear to ear thinking of how lucky I am to be able to have a relationship like this with someone.
