Words…They are our strength our weaknesses. Words are considered to be a mysterious contrivance of communication in our everyday life. Powers of well-chosen words have the power to inform, influence, educate and entertain others. Their powers are expressed effectively and emotionally in stories, poems, essays.Therefore one of the most vital and energetic movements in poetry during the 90s, slam has revitalized interest in poetry in performance. The layer quoted " Those who can do and those who can`t teach", by this statement Taylor got angry but he didn't wanted to be impolite and say some inappropriate words so he taught him a lesson that he would remember his entire life. For example he says that he makes the children work hard, he makes them feel proud when they get C-.Taylor is the type of teacher that calls the parents and tells them to appreciate their children, he trains them to question, criticize and most important to spell correctly. The poem ends with a powerful message which is to do what you like, if one has knowledge and likes his work he should not be interrupted by anyone. Taylor is really confident and he knows the power of words, and when something is said with confidence, it will most likely be perceived by the audience. For instance, the official version of his poem is noticeably different ever time he performs. It is really evident that he has the power to switch just few words in a sentence so that the whole meaning of it changes. Second of all Taylor was a teacher long before he became a poet, so he knows the flaws of the educational system very well. One of his poems "An Apple a Day Is Not Enough" is emphasizing the importance of health education and the impotence of health kids. As he says "Healthy kids do better in school".
