Introduction
There are different political systems adopted in ruling a state. The political system took might change periodically depending on the situation and the needs of the subjects. Democracy is a governing system whereby all the people are involved in the decision-making process through representations. The people of a particular state elect the leader of their choice who represents them in making decisions and formulation of policies. The policies and rules are formulated in a similar assembly or a parliament. Democracy has four broad elements, a political system elected trough fair and free appointment, participations of the citizens in the civic and the political lives. Corruption is the dishonest act or the fraudulency involving bribery especially personnel in power. Corruption has been one of the biggest contributing factors to destabilization of most of the world states the third world countries especially. A democratic state allows the citizens to elect leaders of their choice. As noted by Kurlantzick, during the campaign process, the candidates may bribe the followers in order to win their favor during the voting process (22). United States, despite being recognized as one of the world politically stable states, its officials has been in, one instance or another, involved in corruption allegations. After President Obama was elected to power in 2009, the Veteran Health Administration was engaged in corruption scandals whereby by it has been discovered that the Phoenix VA Hospital staffs have been revenging bribes in order to admit a patient. However, the Veteran Affairs General Eric Shinseki has been investigating the allegations. After the removal of President Gadaffi from power, Libya has since been seeking humanitarian aid due to warfare emerging from the militia groups operating in the country. New European Union member such as Slovakia, Poland and Hungary have been commended initially for the adoption of the democracy models in the governing bodies. However, ten years down the line the new members have been criticized for the abuse of power and human rights. The government has indicated the willingness to crack down human rights activists. Hungary, in particular, has received criticism and due to the deteriorated state of human rights abuse compared to the former communist state. Although the coup has reduced by the end of the 20th Century, developing countries such as Thailand, Niger, Fiji, and Bangladesh among others have experienced military seizure of power. During the seizure period, millions of civilians have lost their lives while others have been displaced from their homes.
