Recommended: the effect that parents have on children
It is easy to say that a parent has had the most influence on your life, they taught you how to walk, talk, drink and among many other things hopefully right from wrong. A good parent is there for you most of your life, quick to lend a hand or offer advice (unless it’s your mother-in-law) when needed, but the trait that impacted my life the most was the integrity my father exhibited with me and the people lucky enough to have met him.
My Father was born to a farmer in NJ a few short years after the depression, learned the lessons that only hard labor can teach from a young age. Working on the farm is not easy, the days are long, the chores are extremely physical and dirty and if you’re a kid all this happens before you even go off to school each morning. I think this is where my dad learned the lessons that made him into the man I have come to admire so much. He is a fair man who has always puts the needs of his family ahead of his own. He was not one for long winded lectures rather he led and taught by example. There was nothing that would hurt me more than my Dad saying he was d...
1. An important trait in parenting is trust - the parent trusting the child allows them to grow up and develop independence, and not be so reliant on the parents simply because they can. Another aspect of good parenting is honesty, but honestly in a way where it is constructive and supportive, not critical and harsh, as the latter is only damaging of the child's confidence, but honest so the child does not grow up in a sugar-coatted lifestyle. A final important point to parenting is patience, where the parents have an understanding that the child needs time to learn and develop skills, and to not grow angry or frustrated when they make mistakes. Negative reactions from a parent can only discourage the child, and often stops them from developing specific skills further.
Throughout our lives we're influenced by many. It can have an effect on the way we view issues within societal boundaries. One of the major influences children have in their lives comes from their parents. The parents of a child can have both a positive and a negative influence on their lives. In the novel "To Kill A Mockingbird", there are two excellent examples of how parents can be a major influence on their children. Atticus Finch, father of Jem and Scout Finch, plays the loving, kind and knowledgeable father. He is an example of how parents can have a positive influence on their children. Bob Ewell, father of Mayella Ewell, plays the drunken, abusive, and neglectful father. He is an example of how a parent can be a negative influence on their children's lives. Both fathers are very influential on the psychological development of their children.
The most impactful individual in my life is my mother, Samantha Jarvis, and that is because, she is the one person I know will always be there for me and guide me when I need help. Its safe to say that I would not exist without her (and my dad) and while that is physically true, I also believe that I would not the person I am today without her. My mom has always encouraged me, even from a young age, to chase my passion for learning and find the answers to my questions. She is the one, I get most of morals, ideals, and work ethic from. My mom is one of those people who give a lot and expect nothing in return. She has been the sole provider of my family for the past 18 years due to my father having a broken back and being unable to work. She also the one that does the cleaning around the house, runs errands around town, takes time off work or skips lunch to take me or my sibling to therapy or, to the doctor’s office, and just about everything else.
You may have normally heard mothers, fathers, granmothers and others alike that are older and wiser to be viewed as the most influential person in one’s life. In my case, the situation is quite different because I am influenced by one of the youngest people in my life. Everyone in my life has come and gone, but my daughter has always been constant. My daughter Adriana Rose Hansen influences me the most because she has always been there for me, makes me want to give her a better life than I had and never gives up on me.
family had a great influence in my life. They always helped me to make good choices, or made me laugh
It necessarily wasn't important things, but little things in life that my dad would just help me with when he was around. Without my dad i had to practice baseball on my own, i had to do my homework on my own. Things like that my dad was always there to help me for i had to figure out by myself now. My mom and sibling were to busy with their own problems it was hard for them to help me as well.
During my pre adolescent years, as best as I can recall, my mother was the driving influence behind my development. She is a good person and a mother with an iron will and a strict way, and I believe that she was one of my first role models. My father played a part in my development also. He instilled in me the morals and values that I have today and I thank him for that. Unfortunately my father passed away thirteen years ago before I had a chance to tell him that.
My father was a hard working man since he was born. As a teen he was foolish and didn't listen to his father, and barley finished high school. He became a agricultural worker on my grandfathers
I was fortunate to have two caring parents to nurture me and guide me, not only in the beginning of my life, but long after I reached adulthood. They are the people I look up to, draw strength from and admire. I strive to model my life in the same manner that they have lived theirs, for they are decent and good people and worth emulating. Long after they have pas...
Growing up, I learned how to make the right and wrong decisions from observing my parents as others would say. Initiatives, such as rewards, were given by them as I would make a right decision or punishment when a wrong decision was made. Wrong decisions were made when I was not completely honest about my personal plans for the weekend. For example, there was a time it was a friend’s birthday party and he happened to be a guy. I was in the ninth grade at the time and I lied to my mom telling her it was something for school. My parents were strict regarding boys while I was growing up so I had to hide it. It was not that long until my mom came to know the truth. I was grounded for a week and my mom sat down with me and told me even if it’s an event with a boy to be completely honest and to share. Another example of someone who has had a great influence on me other than my parents would have to be my fiancé. Sometimes your not always wanting to share things with parents when you are getting older. When there would be conflict with friends I would share it with my fiancé and he would help me by guiding me and advising me on how to resolve it.
Even before my first tear hits the ground, my mother is there to wipe it away. My mother feels my pain before I can even realize it. She understands my needs before I can even think of them. That’s why we call her a mother. My mother has been an extraordinary influence on my life and always will be. She’s the kind of mom who would always take time out and care for her four children and the mom who would never let her hardships in her life distress her kids. My mother has always been a very strong role model to me, and growing up with someone like her to look up to has changed my life in many ways. She has helped me grow physically, intellectually, and considerately. She taught me to always love, care, and give back to the people I am grateful for.
There have been a vast number of lives that have touched mine. Many different people have shared a piece of their soul in my formation. However, it is my mother who is the most important and most influential person in my life. My mother raised me by herself since the day I was born. My father was abusive and she left to make a better life for the both of us. She has worked as many as four jobs at one time. My mother wants to make sure my brothers and I have a better life than she did. It hasn’t always been easy for her, taking care of us on her own, trying to pay bills and making sure we had everything we needed. My mom has always had us involved in sports at a very young age. We always were doing something or involved in something growing up. We went to summer school all through elementary school because she wanted us to get a head start. I remember when we were little she enrolled us I a manners and more class and I can recall when we would go out to eat people would compliment us on how well behaved we were.
I think the most influential people in my life are my parents. They are always there when I need them and sometimes when I think that I don't. They have taught me the value of honesty. I feel that they are the soul reason why I turned out the way I did. I don't drink or do drugs because they have taught me they are wrong and unhealthy. I was taught to respect my self as well as others.
My Mother - The Greatest Inspiration in My Life When asked who their hero is, most people respond with the name of an athlete or an actress/actor. When asked who my hero is, I would have to respond with a simple three letter word: mom. My mother has been the greatest inspiration in my life and is the main reason that I am where I am and who I am today. Born and raised in Richmond, Kentucky, I would like to introduce you to my mother, Vicki Grant. Currently the age of 47, Mom is the oldest of three girls.
All in all, my mother has had a great impact on my life. She encourages me to always grow and blossom into a better person each day of my life. No matter what happens in life, she has taught me to have faith and keep a smile on my face because better days will come. She’s been supportive and makes sure that I continue to prosper. Also, she has helped mold me into the young adult I am today and the success adult that I am sure to be in my future. My mother has greatly affected my life and for that she is greatly
