Most of the people who have lost a love one discover that the holidays could be the hardest times because it is the time when memories and regrets turn on in our minds. In this paper I will discuss about the holidays that are the most difficult for me. I will declare the person who I miss the most during the holidays, by explaining the things a miss the most about this person. I addition, I will answer a series of questions that will depict how I overcome the holidays grief. First of all, the person that I miss the most during the holidays is my grandmother; my grandmother passed away when I was 18 years old, but I spent 16 years of my life with her because she took care of me since I was little. The two major holidays where I tend to remember my grandmother the most is during Christmas and New Year. Christmas is a holiday that I miss my grandmother the most because during Christmas my family and I used to gather as a family at my grandmother’s house to celebrate it. These are great things that bring good memories of my childhood during Christmas and New Year. One thing that I still do with my family is to celebrate with a big hug when 12 midnight approaches during Christmas and New Year. Praying for our meals during the holidays is another ritual that I want to keep in my family, also I would love to gather with my whole family here in the United State to commemorate my grandmother. I am positive that my grandmother would be so happy knowing that once again her family celebrated Christmas the way she used to do it back in Guatemala.
