Everybody dreams of being a billionaire, but if you were actually a billionaire what presents would you get and who would you get them for? I personally find it very satisfying to see the look on someone’s face when they receive the perfect gift. All times are great for gift giving but especially now during the holidays when it is a joyous time for everybody.
One person I think really deserves a gift is my mother. My mother loves to help other people, whether it is her own children or other people in need. If I had billions of dollars to spend I would buy my mother the Red Cross foundation. This is the perfect gift for my mother because she loves to give and this would give her the resources to donate to people all around the world and in great amounts. My mother would enjoy owning the Red Cross foundation because it would extend my mother’s worlds boundaries so much because it would give her the ability to help more people. My mother would also adore this gift because she would be able to travel around the world, and help people there too. This gift would really give my mother a c...

Anne Frank was an innocent Jew that lived with her family in Germany, the moved to the Netherlands during the Holocaust after Hitler came into power. She was forced to live in a secret annex with her family, the Van Pels, and Mr. Pfeiffer. As she went into “hiding”, she brought her diary that she wrote in very often. Even in her not-so-great conditions, Anne maintained a positive attitude throughout everything. Unfortunately, after 2 years pf hiding in the annex, Anne and her family were caught and they were all sent to a concentration camp. One of the last quotes in Anne’s diary stated, “Despite everything, I believe that all people are really good at heart,” and I do agree that everyone is good at heart.
Gift giving is a concept that not only occurs in the three disciplines but also in our everyday life. The gift economy works when a person gives a gift and then expects the other person to reciprocate the gift giving and do something nice for them. This is significant because the concepts of gift giving and reciprocation is an endless cycle. This cycle of gift giving is seen in the disciplines we study (literature, art, and music). Literal gift giving is the actual giving of a gift in hoping that the receiver will reciprocate the gift. Literal gifts are often seen in in the literature novels, such as Gilgamesh and Beowulf. Metaphoric gifts show the significance and symbolic ways of gift giving. Metaphoric gifts are often seen in art and music
I am not born with a silver spoon on my mouth to host a feeding program nor offer scholarships to others. I am just a college student. However, KINDLE, one of Rotaract Club's program, made me realize that we do not need to be rich in order to be of service to others. We could always help, if we truly want to. Afterall, money is just one of the million ways to
The Christmas Sweater is about a boy named Edward Lee who is twelve years old. In the beginning of the book his father has passed away and his mother is taking him to see his grandparents. He started talking about how his father bought a bakery when he was young. The bakery was called the City Bakery. He talked about how his father enjoyed baking and he could bake very well. He used to makes breads and different desserts. He used to help his father in the bakery. One day he noticed that Mrs. Olsen who was a customer paid his father with a food stamp. Eddie thought that his father was just scammed, but his father told him what a food stamp was. He explained that it was for people who had a financial situation, he told Eddie that Mrs. Olsen was someone who needed it. There was also a man who had food stamps, but Eddie's father said that the man could work, but he chooses not to. On Christmas Eve, he and his mother would go visit his grandparents. Eddie loved to go visit his grandparents, he would play cards with his grandfather and they would also go around the house and look for thei...
One time my family bought my Grandma a puzzle containing five thousand pieces. She worked on it (which took a lot of time) but eventually finished it. Grandma even made it into her city's newspaper about her puzzle. It made me feel that Grandma was famous. After she was done with it, she glued it together and stored it away underneath my Grandpa's bed.
The most impactful individual in my life is my mother, Samantha Jarvis, and that is because, she is the one person I know will always be there for me and guide me when I need help. Its safe to say that I would not exist without her (and my dad) and while that is physically true, I also believe that I would not the person I am today without her. My mom has always encouraged me, even from a young age, to chase my passion for learning and find the answers to my questions. She is the one, I get most of morals, ideals, and work ethic from. My mom is one of those people who give a lot and expect nothing in return. She has been the sole provider of my family for the past 18 years due to my father having a broken back and being unable to work. She also the one that does the cleaning around the house, runs errands around town, takes time off work or skips lunch to take me or my sibling to therapy or, to the doctor’s office, and just about everything else.
A gift that I don't need to decide how to pass down & divide evenly to my 3 beautiful children (her grandchildren Jessica, Emily and Julia)
One of my experience as a physical therapist that reminds me about was about receiving gifts which makes you feel special. However,
Friendship means different things for everyone. It can mean happiness and trust. Friends are important to connect to, talk to, and to help in tough situations. Friends help teach life lessons. Most importantly, friends are there to love and to feel loved. The Simple Gift by Steven Herrick revolves around the friendship between the main characters, Old Bill, Billy, and Caitlin. Their friendship resulted in them learning valuable life lessons and experiencing the power of love.
The same study also compiled some strategies that gift givers used to arrive at these gifts. Perhaps these will help you to tap into some
Being the founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates had already made millions of dollars while also becoming more and more famous for his work with computers. So it came as no surprise when he took over his father’s previous foundation called the William gates Foundation and renaming it the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation in 1997. Quickly donations were made to many universities and colleges such as the University of Washington. They were awarded a donation of twelve million dollars. The Gates Foundation also contributed two million dollars to the Seattle Area YMCA, twenty million dollars to the Seattle Public Library, and one million dollars to the Tacoma Art Museum. The Gates also devised plans to improve public education as well as attacking global issues. Of course one knows that at one point in time technology was only available for the rich or in other words only the rich could obtain certain information or knowledge that the poor couldn’t. Bill and Malinda gates understood this so they created a second program called the Gates Library fou...
Living in my current lifestyle, there are many things I have that others are not as privileged of having. For example a full kitchen of food and appliances. If utilized correctly, you can make a change in the world, which is what I did. My mother and I baked several dozen baked goods to sell to both patients and employees in her office. All the money that we raised was then matched by three other people, which means we have four times the amount of money raised to donate to a needy homeless shelter, the Kitsap Rescue Mission.
Gifts make occasions better; they lighten moods, swell the atmosphere and make an ordinary occasion memorable. Authenticity is often valued, and origin specific gifts can be of great value to some.
that person appreciated the gift and it would be almost like a gift to you.
