What are the difference’s between successful people and unsuccessful people. Two ideas are that they are born like this and can’t do nothing to change it, but a different idea is that your outside surroundings can affect how someone turns out. In the book The Other Wes Moore it shows extrinsic factors. To as how one of the Wes’s turned out successful Whereas the other one didn't. An example of this idea that one's environment can change how successful people become. Like Author Wes had extrinsic factors is the wealth of his family and the opportunities he had. His mother had to intervene after she saw all of wes’s actions and who he was becoming sh then decided to intervene and gather money from her family, but still fell short.Wes’s mother still after asking every relative for money still didn't have enough money to send Wes to military school knowing the situation his grandparents made the decision to pay for his tuition with their retirement money. The Author’s mother made the decision to send Wes to military school because of his recent action like getting into fights and he would tag walls …show more content…

As Well as their neighborhood had impacted them. Like at first Author Wes had lived in a bad neighborhood in a rural part of Baltimore but his environment the changed when they sent him to Military school changing the way he acted and making him a completely different person making him successful. Whereas the Other Wes neighborhood stayed the same making more likely to stay selling dough and stealing from stores which ended up with him not being successful. He had changed his life when he left his neighborhood to go to the job corps, but as soon as he came back he ended up going back to his old ways not improving at all.Ending up in the situation he is in now, it shows an extrinsic factor to as how their neighborhood affected them in different
