“The Other Wes Moore One Name, Two Fates” written by Wes Moore is a New York Bestseller. Moore talks about how two boys with the same name, who lived a few blocks apart grew up in the same type of community and had different outcomes in their life. Both of the boys were fatherless, were troubled in their child hood, and basically hung out with their friends on street corners. However, one of the Wes Moore became a business leader and the other one ended up serving a life sentence in jail. This book relates to me because it talks about how the boys had problems hanging with the wrong crowd, how they got in trouble with the law. For instance, Wes Moore and his friends were involved in a smoke bomb at school and he was suspended. The other Wes Moore was getting into a lot of fights while his friends cheered him on. Wes Moore got into trouble with the law for having an aggressive attitude and a smart mouth. For instance, I grew up fatherless and I hung out with the wrong crowd. I had started high school and I really wanted to fit in, because I was a very shy individual. I made a friend and she was very popular compared to me. She invited me to a sleepover and everything was going great until we went to Walmart. I was looking at mother’s day gifts for my mom and my friend was shoplifting, but at the time I didn’t know. When I paid for my stuff and it was time to go, but we were stopped at the door. The undercover police took us to a room and they searched us and she had seventy two dollars’ worth of merchandise on her. I had to go to court in the judge let me off with a warning and that when I realized I needed to get my life on track. I relate more to Wes Moore and not the other Wes Moore because I am headed down the right thanks to my family and
